How do people feel about the new jungle?

I didn't play much at all during the pre-season but I've recently started playing again and I can't stand the new jungle. I hate everything about it. What's the genreral consensus for everyone else? Do you like it? Hate it? Did you just need time to get used to it?

I like the idea, work, and thought; I hate how it makes 2/3rds of the most viable S4 junglers pack their bags and try their hand in laning.

I still do the old jungle routes and act as nothing new has happened. Its still super easy to do.

having a hard level 1-3 doesnt give enough drawback for having the most influence in the game. Buffs should have like 200ad at level 1 to prevent cancer junglers to get big in just 2 minutes

New jungle is pretty. That is the best part.

Jokeing aside. Different smites seems like good idea at first, but with poacher is like a dead option, challenging smite a inferior form of chill smite after all the nerfs. You are only playing with 2 smites really. And they are kinda just slightly different but weaker than the 45s smite. However, this cannot be directly explained clearly, since 45s smite was for a much weaker jungle. What I want to say is for the 45s smite and the old jungle COMPARE it to the new smites and a stronger jungle. The old one was overall more reliable for jungler. But the new smite have more flare/fun to it.

Patch 5.0 was the most horrible jungle experience EVER. All the item sucked, the smite sucked, you donate the camp to lanes at lvl one. Camps are hard and you are underlvl cause the experience gained was horrifically bad. But looking at Patch 5.3 now, with 2 stacks smite, the jungle is much much much better.

Dragon change is weird, now it does so little for most jungler who put the most effort into securing it compare to their teamates. To explain this briefly, jungler and support get the least gold in game, thats no secret. Therefore, global gold is much more valuable for jungler and support compare to the likes of solo laner and adc. But now dragon do not give that anymore. The most important buff it gives is the 1st and 5th, where the 1st one give bonus AD and AP. Who would stack AP and AD the whole game? Mid and ADC, sometimes Top. You seldom see jungler stack those. So it generally does less for jungler now, and jungler have to put in the most efford to secure it, then has to still relies completely on the wimps of the Mid and ADC to carry the game. Basically, it makes jungler slightly harder to carry the game by actually "carrying the game". Jungler have to be more indirect to carry the game by finding ways to boosting the laner's power.

Smiting monster for buff is interesting. Its fun and different, I like this change.

I heard one of the reason for a harder jungle and removal of the sustain jungle item was to make it easier for tank junglers. Not sure if its true or not, but it certainly has not gone as planed if that was the plan. Tank jungler clear it even slower now, and thus take more damage which makes them just as low hp as the damage jungler. And later on they clear even slower. The river crab takes insane amount of time to do after mid game if you are a tank jungler. So if new jungle was made to benefit tank jungler, this has fail, Riot have to try again.

Overall, I gears toward a slightly happy about new jungle now? About 5.5 kinda happy. Which aint great at all.

One thing I do hate is Warwick nerf. He got the bad end of the stick when in preseason, challenge smite and devourer was stupid strong. So he stands out so much which proceeded to getting him, the smite and devourer nerfed. Now that smite and devourer is both useless, warwick was not compensated at all. His team buff is weaker, he no influence pre-6 and his ult does and his ult does less dmg than Vi's who does everything else better than him. (This is extremely huge, no influence on early game is basically a death sentence for jungler unless you have some trump card up your sleeve that can influence the game greatly after.) So basically warwick got the spotlight for like a flash, then get dumped back to the hellhole of forgottenvile again. Poor little warwick when are you gonna get a real rework.

Lack of gold and experience is frustrating, but aside from that it does really take some time to get used to it. The biggest change in path being: don't start from red or blue buff. Then you have to figure out if you can live by taking health from smiting red or if you should back before the second big buff. Likewise which camps to skip if you do double buffs. Also, the chicken camp hurts so be wary of that.

I really like the new jungle. I just want the ridiculous jungle outliers to be nerfed so that the true benefits of putting junglers in their place can be felt.

Minibuffs: good. Scuttle Crab: good. Difficulty: ridiculous. Diversity: cripplingly bad. New Dragon: the buff has become an extremely important objective, but the dragon itself is underwhelming. It doesn't seem to have an actual fire-breathing animation; it just sits there and occasionally ejects flames. New Baron: Feels like a real raid boss, and the buff does what the buff was always meant to do: break sieges by crushing enemy defenses.

I like the new jungle, but I didn't jungle all that often until after the changes.

the new items is good, difficulty is a bit high, river crab is amazing, but the changes to dragon and baron were terrible.
