Evelynn Update - Update
Hello, I'm Parznip. I LOVED old Evelynn, easily she my favourite champion. While I still love new Eve's thematic and character, I was left a bit unsatisfied by her kit. Basically just with the Q and E. I found myself really wishing I didn't have the gripes I do with these two abilities, so I figured I might as well put my opinion out there on what at least I personally would find a more appealing kit for Evelynn. Please remember that I don't claim to be a balance expert, and that most of these changes weren't meant to be balance changes so much as mechanic changes, as her mechanics and ability functions were what I found to be not to my liking.
Demon Shade EFFECT RADIUS: 700
Innate: Evelynn gains Demon Shade after not taking damage from enemy champions or turrets for 1.5 seconds, or after 4 seconds of basic attacking or casting an ability. Demon Shade: While below 250 − 590 (based on level) (+ 250% AP) health, Evelynn restores 15 − 75 (based on level) health every second. From level 6 onward, Demon Shade also grants camouflage.
Unchanged. Although Evelynn's entire thing is her stealth, and it feels kind of crappy to have it locked behind a level requirement, I understand why they made her stealth only kick in after level 6, and agree it's healthier for everyone apposing Evelynn. Overall I think this ability's fine, although I would like any ideas on how to balance Eve around level one stealth to be thrown around.
Q: Hate Spike RANGE: 800, COST: 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60 Mana, COOLDOWN: 8, Barrage Cooldown: 0.5
Dart: Evelynn flourishes her lashers, launching a dart in the target direction, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit. Hitting a monster refunds 60% of the cooldown. Dart Damage: 20 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 (+ 30% AP) For the next 4 seconds the enemy hit takes bonus magic damage from her next 3 basic attacks or abilities. Bonus Damage: 10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 (+ 25% AP) Hate Spike may be re-activated up to 3 times at no cost until the ability comes off cooldown.
Spikes: Evelynn projects a line of spikes in the direction of her attack target, dealing magic damage to all enemies struck. Hate Spike will first prioritize Evelynn's attack target, then the nearest enemy champion. Spike Damage: 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 (+ 30% AP)
Alright, so this is where I start to not like her so much. I totally understand what they were going for with this ability. The initial cast (the lasher) is there to be a skillshot requirement to get her charm. It's mark is there to make Hate Spike's damage more single target oriented. Although it works well in her kit, I just feel like the lasher portion of this ability makes the skill feel overloaded and over complicated. I will propose my idea of how to make the skill more true to old eve while keeping it's current purpose.

Evelynn projects a line of spikes in the direction of her cursor, decreasing in speed as the projectile travels. All enemies hit take magic damage. Spike Damage: 25/30/35/40/45 (+25% AP)
Demon Shade: While in Demon Shade, Evelynn builds up to three charges of Hate Spike which she can cast on a reduced cooldown. These three casts deal additional damage to her crush. Hate Spike returns to normal functionality once all charges have been depleted. Bonus Damage: 20/30/40/50/60 (35% AP)
So it still requires you to land a skillshot, and in fact all hate spike casts are now skillshots, and still does mostly single target damage. The difference is that I did away with the (imo) weird dart mechanic and made it more true to old Eve's spammable Q. This allows her to take more extended (and therefore risky) fights if she has the mana.
W: Allure, Range: 1200/1300/1400/1500/1600, Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 Mana, Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11
Evelynn curses the target champion or monster for 5 seconds and marks it as her crush for the duration of Allure's effect. Evelynn's next attack or ability against the cursed target expunges the curse, slowing them by 65% for seconds and refunding Allure's mana cost if expunged before 2.5 seconds have passed. If expunged after at least 2.5 seconds have passed, the target is charmed and has its magic resist reduced for 4 seconds if it is a champion, or takes magic damage and is charmed for 2 seconds longer if it is a monster. Slow / Charm Duration: 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 Champion Magic Resist Reduction: 25 / 27.5 / 30 / 32.5 / 35% Monster Bonus Damage: 250 / 300 / 350 / 400 / 450 (+ 60% AP)
Nothing changed here.
E: Whiplash TARGET RANGE: 210, COST: 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60 Mana, COOLDOWN: 8
Active: Evelynn whips the target enemy with her lashers, applying on-hit effects, dealing magic damage. The percent health ratio deals a minimum of 25 damage. Magic Damage: 55 / 70 / 85 / 100 / 115 (+ 3% (+ 1.5% per 100 AP) of target's maximum health)
Evelynn also gains 30% bonus movement speed for 2 seconds.
Gaining Demon Shade resets Whiplash's cooldown and empowers the next cast.
Empowered Active: Evelynn dashes toward the target enemy, dealing increased damage as well as damaging all enemies she passes through. On-hit effects are only applied to her target. Empowered Damage: 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 / 175 (+ 4% (+ 2.5% per 100 AP) of target's maximum health)
This ability is alright, personally I just feel like the max health damage was a bit off on this ability and that its multi-target functionality was unnecessary and added a lot of hidden aoe burst potential to what was supposed to be a single target nuke.
E: NEW SHINY WHIPLASH Range, 210, Cost: 40/45/50/55/60 Mana, Cooldown: 8 seconds Evelynn whips the target enemy with her lashers, dealing magic damage and granting herself 30% bonus movement speed for 2 seconds. Magic Damage: 50/75/100/125/150 (+65% AP)
Demon Shade: Entering Demon Shade refreshes Whiplash's cooldown and empowers its next cast.
Empowered Whiplash: Range, 210, Cost: 40/45/50/55/60 Mana, Cooldown: 8 seconds
Evelynn dashes to the target and whips them with her lashers while ravaging them with her claws, dealing magic damage and granting Evelynn 30% movement speed for 2 seconds.
Magic Damage: 65/90/115/140/165 (+85% AP)
Now does flat magic damage since having Eve's old Q allows her to do more damage over time to tanks, especially with
. The multi target damage aspect has been removed in favor of more burst vs squishy targets.
R: Last Caress EFFECT RADIUS: 500, ANGLE: 180° COST: 100 Mana, COOLDOWN: 140 / 110 / 80
Active: Evelynn becomes untargetable as she reveals her true form to all enemies in front of her, before blinking back 700 units. Enemies caught in her reveal are devastated, taking magic damage, doubled against enemies below 30% of their maximum health. Magic Damage: 125 / 250 / 375 (+ 75% AP) Empowered Damage: 300/500/650 (+150% AP)
Love this ability, didn't change a thing.
Alright that's all I have to say. I'd appreciate feedback on these changes, although minuscule.
