Hey I'm just wondering if anyone else think league is dying. I've been playing late 2015 and I think that game has since then slowly decreased in players. Always do more player play normals or ranked. This also made me wonder if its dying https://na.op.gg/statistics/tier/
If Riot keeps releasing new champions that continue to warp game balance and fail to keep up a steady stream of VGUs, then yes, League will eventually buckle and break under there simply being too many champions but only a handful being worth playing at any given time, and often the exact same fucking handful.
Lack of item diversity and ADC favoritism will also kill this game eventually, as will needless changes like new Rift Herald that only makes the game more snowbally and anti-strategic.
The game peaked 100 million players in 2016. It was the most played game of May 2017 while the 2nd most played MOBA was the 8th most played game which is Heroes of the Storm.
The game is not dying, It won't die until Professional players like Faker, Bjergsen, Peanut etc die or good art and lore. There's so much about this game to love despite the balancing nightmare shindig the team has to go through and the #1 toxic community, Yet they don't give up, And I love them for this.

With the state of game balance going absolutely downhill with rarely any good or smart change, I wouldnt be surprised if many players just gave up.
Riot is basically trying to stabilize the game around certain champions.
imagine if you will spending many games learning a champion. then one day Riot makes a change to some random item or some champion that has either never helped you or a champion that has been your counter pick. once that small moment of breathing happens riot turns around and nerfs your champion due to the success of that champion. then as patches continue they make changes on the item that brought that champion to the for front or buffed the champion that was their counter again and your champion is now nerfed and never returned back to the state of the prior change.
the company does a shit job at keeping track of why they did certain changes to some champions and when that reason becomes moot they never revert your champion back to the state that they once where.
Yes league is dying. Riot has become corrupt and doesn't care about their customers anymore.
