Yorick's ult should not always be used to split push. Oh what am I doing?
Now to be clear as far as the split pushing with his ultimate goes, dropping off your lady friend in another lane and ganking cripples yorick significantly. It's not that you shouldn't period, but I've seen a handful or yorick players send the m.o.m (maiden of the mist) into a different lane to push it, only to have it killed by either the turret or another player. I can even recall riot saying in their champ spotlight that you can drop the maiden in the bot lane while teamfighting over an objective or in the mid lane. I'd say that this is a good idea except that yorick deals a significant amount of damage when paired with his m.o.m.
From my experience from playing yorick and watching others play him, the best time to have the maiden take a separate lane is if you're already ahead and you need map pressure more than you need killing power.
Aw who am I kidding nobody plays yorick, nobody plays niche champs unless they're either considered overpowered or a pro player won a match with them. Making a post about yorick and how to play him well. Jeez, I'd get a better response asking a brick wall out to dinner. It's all about the memes now, all about getting attention and trying to hold it. "look at this build it's so op this is broken omg!" It makes me sick to my stomach. I mean, now that riot is doing a pretty good job of balancing champions, designing reworks, and even making sure there aren't too many abusive items.
This game, is plagued by it's playerbase, they're mostly kids, kids with no intention of growing up. I'm glad riot doesn't change everything at the whim of it's players, if it did we'd be living in season 2 or 4 right now, I mean sure the game might have had more fun elements to it, but it was grossly imbalanced compared to today, with a handful of champs that couldn't be useful if they tried. Old gangplank may have been more fun, but he was gimped significantly.
It annoys me every time somebody complains about a champ being overpowered. It's distracting when players get killed once or lose one teamfight and either say gg or give up. They're like spoiled brats. You know what though, I don't meet these people too often. And you know what? It's not true that niche champs aren't played, skarner threw a curve ball in the lcs last season for crying out loud. Since riot started giving class updates and making sure each champion brought something different to the table has kinda made the game a bit more fun. It can mean you don't pick a champ because it's stats are better, you pick it because it's what you want to play and how you want to play. And I gotta admit, I do love dominating somebody who picked a popular champ because they're popular.
You know, last year for league was a pretty great year, I don't care what anybody says. Sure irelia and urgot had their reworks delayed again, but they'll have more time and effort put into their reworks when they do come around, and since shen's rework, they did say they would be careful about adding experimental stuff into champions.
At the end of the day, it's all about playing the game, sure, surrounding media and people might make it seem worse. But the game itself is great. It seems for the past year and a half they've learned from their past mistakes. Season 5 had a lot of champs that were problems, but less so than previous releases that had gone awry. Season 6 champs had a more refined design, sure a few of them needed tweaking, but their kits and functionality weren't too bad.
Well, all things considered, league is still a great game. Riot keeps getting better at making their game fun and enjoyable, while also maintaining a competitive aspect. Which I greatly appreciate. Riot, from a fan of the game, keep up the good work. Genuinely looking forward to the next few reworks. I'll enjoy ap warwick while it's still a thing. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
