1k games p1-d4 Velkoz, the mid riot made that is a support. Give his e longer range and scaling.

Velkoz is basically a mix of xerath and lux passive/ lux ult.

The reason Xerath is able to be successful is because of his ability to have higher range and cast through minion while still doing high damage, velkoz does not have this abilities because his w and e do not scale only his passive does. Meaning if you level Q on velkoz you lose your ability to farm as well. Xerath does not lose this. Plus since riot move his scaling from his w to his passive the best form of clearing is to take 3 points in w and use w twice on the lane. Making him literally have no options for fighting a champion. This is why he is a support. His only way to poke as a poke champion is his q. Which means in mid match ups he doesnt really counter anyone. Burst champions like kat zed ahri fizz leblank are obvious counters and that is fine however, as a poke champion you would think he would be able to compete against other poke champions well. Lux has long range abilities and velkoz has 2 but lux's have longer range. Xerath is even worse because his damage on w,e are better than velkozs not to mention when comparing ults you cannot just escape Xeraths with a flash. and lux's 1 has a shorter cooldown and 2 is not a channel. So the point is that velkoz can beat them sure but he needs to out play them from a slightly behind position because he has 2 damaging abilities q and passive. no1 stand on 2 of velkozs w unless you hit e which has a much shorter range than lux's snare which is her win condition for her burst.

So why does this make Velkoz a support? Well He can take all points into q because he does not have to farm. Meaning his damage is where it should be, but cant be if he is mid . He doesnt need his w anyway since the damage isnt great because all the scaling is in the passive and no1 stands on both parts of the w unless they are stupid. So the lane is just landing q until they are low enough to try to lane e with the q slow. So the combo looks something like q at near max range walk forward e,w ult. (otherwise they flash out of ult. and ur cant catch up. Mid is pointless half the time because if they have a dash ur not hitting that combo and now q,w,e are down they win the all in because they have a dash. In the support role ur damage is in ur q meaning that even if they dodge the comb ur q will be up soon and you will have never used any of ur Ws to farm so you likely still have the other one up. Meaning support will still have have the option to get off another q and prok passive than use ult as truedmage and more passive stack. (which is better since w,e has low scaling and 60 percent of w damage and scaling is on 2nd part of w anyway)

SMALL BUFF Look I could ask for alot of things, but what velkoz really needs is not damage, but how the damage is applied or can be applied. Example shifting his w first prock to and 2nd prock would help, or giving velkoz higher e range out let him fight his counters when their escapes are down. Right now zed just ults if you e at any point. fizz trol poles? Well if you e he dashes through minions and his shark become not much of a skill shot because you had to get close to e which he dodged with the dash anyway. (cant ult because shark takes you out of channel) Velkoz has tons of counter play because he is all skill shots and his damage is from q (which doesnt pass through things) and his passive which requires you to sit in his abilities much like his ult does.

LARGE BUFF If you want him to be a strong mid lane you should just making his a pushing machine kind of like how malz is. Allow him to have less passive scaling and more scaling. His counters like ahri and fizz can still kill him no problem, but he would counter champions like ZOE who cannot clear as fast. (Remember Xerath already clears from longer range while being able to poke you at the same time.)

Personally, I don't mind either, but I want him to be more viable supp so I can have my full Void premade

A small range increase on his E would be welcome considering the only way to land it regardless is to hit a Q beforehand.

However the main problem is how his E functions as a suspension rather than a knock up, and how it always knocks away from where it was cast.

I would rather see it become an actual knock up / stun and bounce enemies into the center of the cast like Viktor's W. Half the time, even if I land it the enemy champion is on the edge and gets knocked out of my W... By my own spell. Changing it to a knock up means tenacity no longer reduces it as well, which is so incredibly important because Vel's ability to self peel is virtually nonexistent with the hundreds of dashes in this game currently.

I think riot should just rework Vel’Koz’s e. It’s a very generic ability. It needs to be more distinguished.
