Why does Riot keep reworking champs into new champs?

There's been quite a few in the past and I'm a bit annoyed. I liked Akali, she was my second main, then Riot decides she's going to be something completely different with a La Criox breath of familiarity. What's the point in reworking? Make a new champ, she was fine as she was. Why keep reworking underplayed champs that other players adore just so other people will play them more? She wasn't OP or UP, so why? I would really appreciate a red response on this because this has consistantly happened to all of my previous mains in the past, Mordekaiser, Gragas, and Yorick. With no real reason behind it, it doesn't make any sense. Why rework her into a brand new champion with hardly a whiff of what she was?

Because a lot of champions haven’t aged well or are unhealthy by Riots standards. Incidentally, it’s mostly old champions that have this problem.

TL:DR It keeps the game fresh.

Why did City of Heroes get shut down?

Because it looked like crap. No matter how fun the game was, it looked like crap. And no matter how fun the game was, it played like crap and was unappealing visually.

These things induced the decision to cut it from NCSoft's game list. This started a domino effect on NCSoft, giving them the reputation for killing games and breaking hearts.

All because Paragon Studios wouldn't update the polys to fit with the times, and the older powers to have synergy with the new.

So Even if Akali didn't get reworked, she's still doing the same thing that 70% of other assassins were doing, just to a different effect. Gap closing, assassiniating, use get away tool.

The pattern became archaic around newer/reworked assassins like Ekko, Zed, and Talon. Akali was released way back in 2010, so evey assassin after her has had design techniques applied to them that are more matured and developed than Akali. Honestly, looking at the unveil, and the way the powers work in the exhibition video, they made her look very very cool.

But lets not forget that League of Legends Champions are nothing without Items. The items make the champions powerful, so as long as you play the game to the best of your abilities, and assuming Akali's core gameplay experience remains unchanged, I'm sure you'll have no problems adjusting.

I'm an Evelynn Mastery enthusiast. 2nd time reaching 1 Million Mastery points on her!

To update outdated kits and/or designs. Yorick and Poppy were underplayed and undertuned because their kits were too obnoxious to tune so Rior reworked them. Akali, I'm assuming, fell closer into the camp of having a kit that was solely outdated so it needed a fresh coat of paint.

Ufff another post of these (I love them because I agree).

I think reworks should be visual updates and minimal changes to the skills kit. No more killing a champion's kit and getting 90% new ones so more people want to play the champion. With a visual update and a bit of polishing in the kit it's enough for more people to get interested and the old players to stay very happy.

one of the reason is becuse they cant balance there old kit. either to strong or to weak

I totally agree with you, I loved the old Gragas and when they reworked him to a tank League just got so boring.
