Theory crafting a random Malphite rework
-DISCLAIMER- im just a bronzie who loves to over analyze champion kits so before you go all keyboard happy and just tell me that i dont know what im talking about; well i do know to some extent. sure im no expert but i know the basics and i can still have my opinions on whats fun and not fun to play against/ play as -END DISCLAIMER-

Whats wrong with Malphite to begin with? well, to be straight to the point, its quite obvious whats wrong with him= his ultimate is too strong. sure, as a champion he is fine currently but the fact that his ultimate is a point and click almost instant knock up in an aoe prevents him from having anything interesting in the rest of his kit, a bit of the same problem that the old warwick had before his rework.

What can be done to fix it? well first of all, before we fix anything, we need to set something straight. the ultimate has to keep its purpose that it currently have or else Malphite wouldnt trully be "Malphite". the problem with that is that the reason his ultimate make him so memorable is that it is so strong. My thoughts on changing it would have to be by giving it a very short cast time, along the lines of 0.5 seconds and without giving any indications to the enemy where he is going to charge. the small delay would allow his ultimate to keep its team fighting powers and somewhat unpredictable nature of the unstoppable force while giving a very small window for the enemy to try and disperse.

Now that his ult is weaker, now what? Well now we can give a bit more punch and maybe some more utility in the rest of his kit. his current passive in my opinion shouldnt be changed drastically. the only change i would be fine seeing is the shield being based off bonus health instead of max health and having the scaling adjusted accordingly. his Q and W needs some love on the other hand.
-For the Q, an experimental thought i had was to remove the damage entirely and make the movespeed theft way higher, along the lines of 50% at lv 5, which would make him very sticky and would allow him to peel decently after he engages fights.
-His W currently is a very boring spell right now, being only a passive armor bonus and a small tiamat based off armor and ability power. My thoughts for it would be to switch the active to the passive aspect which could scale with level instead of spell level. the active part would remove the passive in the duration of the active/buff and give his auto attacks more damage but in single target which would scale of the spell's level.
-The E is somewhat strange currently. as we are in a meta where ADCs already struggle quite a lot, our favorite mountain's E is a bit of "win more" currently. Although when ADCs come back as the true carries, the attack speed debuff will be quite strong. I am very torn between lowering the debuff (by more or less 10% max) or simply changing what the debuff is entirely. Damage wise the ability shouldnt be changed much (unless testing proves otherwise)
IN CONCLUSIONS
Personally i do hope that even with a rework, that Malphite's ultimate changes as little as possible but that Riot makes it more fair on the receiving end of the mountain and that they make his kit more fun to play, as these were simply some ideas that passed my mind. Although i dont roam the boards much I would enjoy seeing more ideas on how to do it. Wow i realy dont know how to end these...
