Controversial opinion: Snowballing is primarily from champion design

Most of the popular champs now are really feast or famine.

The worst offenders are assassins. On one hand, they can snowball pretty hard and this is what gets complained about. But what we don't talk about enough is how useless a behind assassin is. It's actually ridiculous because this problem has been known for years but Riot actually doubled down on it by removing tons of CC from assassin kits back in season 3 or 4. Now I'm not exactly trying to say that assassins need to have CC but rather, if you're going to do that you have to find another way to give them a fallback pattern.

Assassins are not the only problem, not by a long shot. A lot of champions are feast or famine.

Then you have oppressive early game bullies that are snowbally and never really fall off for real. Like yeah Caitlyn will fall off... if she's against Lulu Kog and the game goes to 40 min. Graves falls off against like idk Trynd jungle? But who cares?
