Just A Story About Promos

Once upon a time, I skipped my promos. Mind you, I am a support main. Climbing as a support player is extremely difficult to do.

I was Silver V at the end of season 3. When I did my provisionals for season 4, I believe I went 6 and 4 in my provisionals. I got placed in Bronze I. So only a tear difference. Which made sense to me. However, I know I was good enough to be in Gold. When I was playing (to essential get out of Bronze), I won 5 games in a row. My last game, I was the only one that was Bronze. Everyone else was Gold. Low Gold. But still Gold. Which is unheard of now. There's a ranking tear gap that is now incorporated. I was playing Thresh. I made amazing lantern ganks with my jungler. So quick that neither adc was able to react to what was happening. I made the game winning hook. Managed to hook the support Zyra, inbetween her plants. With that game, I skipped my promos. I didn't even know you could skip promos at that time. My boyfriend at the time, who was watching me play, was baffled. He looked it up to make sure it wasn't a glitch in the system. It turns out, it is extremely rare to skip a promotional game. Much less a promotion that included a tear advancement. It's like Riot knew I was better than what they place me in. So they made up for it by allowing me to skip those Bronze promos.

I am now a Platinum support player. I haven't been placed as low as Gold since that season. I know my story seems a little unbelievable, however, it really happened to me.
