The Cinderhulk meta is considered one of the most balanced metas, and I think I know why...

Aside from a few outliers (looking at you Sejuani ) the cinderhulk meta is considered one of the more balanced metas in League of Legends. Games revolved more around smart decision making instead of a Zed getting fed, one shotting your adc, and then winning the game from there. Do you ever wonder why it's so highly regarded?

It's because of Riot's philosophy at the time.

Riot called patch 5.4 the "buff barge". keyword being buff. Instead of nerfing the top tier champions, Riot threw a bone to a bunch of other champions, allowing them to rise into playability. Hell, even Urgot was top tier for a while.

What happened to this state of mind? What happened to buffing the underdogs? What happened to giving everyone a chance?

I'd bet that if Riot went back into the buff mindset, we'd enjoy the next few patches.

Drunk out.

Tanks are role regulators. They make sure that everyone else does their job in a healthy way-- and thus the game is by extension, healthier, at the cost of longer game duration, which many took offense to, but especially Riot. Riot disdains slow, well thought out games. They want fast, impulse driven chaos that will get fans cheering.

Those buffs you refer to are icing on a cake, but jungle tanks are what made the meta ideal.

I guess we're ignoring the Karma / XinZhao buffs right now.

Because this board is freaking obsessed with tanks for whatever reason.

Well they are buffing Gragas, Akali, and Ziggs in the next patch. Then again they are nerfing a few, but still my man Grag is getting some love <3

"The Cinderhulk meta is considered one of the most balanced metas"

Only on these boards and by a hand full of biased people. Played the game plenty during season 5, never once heard someone say this in game.
