Question about Match Maker for Ranked Solo

I think I've seen questions about the match maker, but they are mostly about normal games. So I am asking here.

Starting off, I'm currently at silver 1. I don't really play ranked much but it is where I'm at. Also I queue up for fill most of the time.

I have no problems about who I play with in normal. It is for fun, and sometimes getting rekt by a plat could be fun(or watching plat rekt others).

Ranked, on the other hand, is a whole other story. I thought ranked was about getting players on similar levels as you, or at least should keep teams balanced. Admittedly, I am on a bit of a tilt and did not play well some of the games. What bugged me is that when I checked with game history, I was playing against mostly gold and plats, and more often than not, I get the shorter end of the stick.

Since I am the silver on a gold/plat mixed team, I would expect to get more plat/high gold on my team. Though I am typically on the other side.

e.g. game 1(L): s1(me), g2, p3 p5 p5 VS g5 p5 p5 p5 p5 game 2(L): s1 g1 g1 g3 g5 VS p5 p5 p5 g3 g5 game 3(L): s1, g1 g2, p4 p5 VS g1 g2 p5 p5 p5 game 4(W): s1, g1, g2, p4, p5 VS g1 g2 g2 p5 p5 game 5(W, TY Xin Zhao for carry): s1, s1, g3 g4 p5 VS s3 g3 g4 g4 g5 game 6(L): s1, g1 g1 p4 p5 VS g1 g2 p5 p5 p5

There are more, but more times than not my team has a disadvantage rank wise. Though, I did a rough estimation. If my rank were around gold 1, then most of the matches are a lot more evenly matched.

Do people have similar experiences in ranked?
