MMR and how it works...?

So, I'm aware of the basics, but I've got a general speculation as well... I'm positive 20 right now in overall ranked games. I think a total of 150 games. I'm getting about 19 lp per win. By doing the math, to get to gold 5, I would have to be Positive 29 games. that seems pretty unreasonable to me. Thats pretty overwhelmingly positive, compared to alot of people i see in gold, or high silver, or even diamond, who are almost even, or negative in win/loss. My individual preformance is perfectly fine too. I generally am even, and i play tanks, so it's not like i'm gonna get 30 kills. I ward frequently, and have high kill participation too. Just curious why it's so hard for me =/

The system is shit. I have a negative winrate this season (like 153 wins and 155 losses) and I am still Plat after the reset put me back in Silver II. SO basically I climbed 1 and half tiers while losing more than winning.

I mean it changes if you start building up your mmr then you would get more points per game. Idk I have been about +10 all season (roughly 53% win) and getting between 22-24 points a game.

Weird, looking at op.na.gg it says your mmr is lower than average. You been duoing with friends who are lower rank say silver 4 or 5? Not sure why your mmr would be lower if you have a 56% win percentage

It's super complicated. It matters much more the relative MMRs of the players on each team than it does the actual W/L rates. Matchmaking tries to even this up as much as possible, but settles for giving reasonable queue times instead. So some games you play a team that's much better than yours, and your MMR only goes down slightly when you lose, but jumps up a lot if you win. (And vice-versa, of course)

Now factor in that MMR is separated from League rank so that punishment of trolling/excessive dodging/etc. is included and you get a pretty wacky system. It boils down to this: once you've played 100ish ranked games, you're probably about where you deserve to be given the current meta and your own abilities with the particular champs you've played in them in said meta. Some players get to this about-right place within a dozen games. Some players it would take 200.

But here's the thing: most players who change their ranks between those 100 and 200 game marks? They get ranked differently because they're playing differently. Either they're learning more about the game/the current meta, or they're not learning as much compared to other players around them. The overall level of play goes up significantly each season, and if you're not at least keeping even with that, new players are going to surpass you.

Yeah, i have some friends i duo with frequently. I know it lowers mmr, but by this much? :( seems silly with a system built for playing with friends...
