The repair tool is excellent on paper, but often ruins a match

In the unfortunate event of a bug splat in a game, you will most likely be greeted with the automated repair tool that will begin immediately downloading all necessary files and scanning them all again.

While I appreciate the efficiency that a program will notice a problem and attempt to fix it, it often ruins a match in almost every case. This results in two outcomes; a match where you return severely behind and have an uphill battle that is unlikely to work out well or you do not reconnect in time and your team chooses to surrender (or early surrender).

The main issue I would like to highlight is that the length of time spent repairing the game takes long enough to ruin a match for a player.

As a very recent example I may give from my own personal experience I lost connection in a match for a period of 15 seconds. The key element is that I only lost connection and did not receive a bug splat, but when I returned with my connection I was presented a bug splat. This then prompted the automation for repairing and caused a time period long enough that a ranked match decided that surrender was the best option.

It is difficult to deal with and while its not every match, it does happen enough to warrant highlighting. For reference this was an early surrender vote and my team was in the lead, myself being rather ahead of my opponent.

The match is just one game, but the potential that it could happen again makes this ultimately frustrating.
