Ward Skin

I opened a box and got a ward skin shard and a Morgana skin shard. Using essence I upgraded the ward skin to permanent. I cannot use the skin now, when I am in champion select it tells me I do not have the ward skin. What happened? It was a Rammus ward skin :)
