@Riot: On "queue health" and the removal of draft
When asked about the removal of draft one of Riot's most common answers is that it was a low-population queue and that the time it took to find a match there made the queue unhealthy ( example ) ). But shouldn't the "health" of the lobby experience and resulting match quality also be considered as a holistic part of a queue's health? Reducing the "health" of a queue to just the time you spend waiting for a match to be found seems overly reductionist.
Further, it appears to speak to a disconnect between what the developers and the players value. I and many others were happy to have a slightly longer queueing time (appoximately 5 minutes in average) to ensure we'd get our preferred roles, the ability to ban out the champions we hate, avoid mirror matches and have friendly lobbies where noone is fighting over their roles or instalockers. To sacrifice all that for slightly improved queue times is an unacceptable tradeoff to us.
And no, flex queue is not an alternative to normal drafts because our LP is on the line and some people suffer from ranked anxiety. I've already had arguments with friends because I want to flex for the better matchmaking experience but they get stressed out in ranked and try to drag me into blind instead.
