Riot should better support forming premades in-client.

"We know playing premade is more fun." - RiotLobster

But what about those of us who

  • have a hard time making friends?
  • play League at irregular times and can't queue Ranked with friends consistently?
  • can't find friends around our skill level and/or in the right position(s)?
  • aren't socially inclined due to autism, social anxiety, avoidant personality disorder or what have you?
  • are introverted and just aren't inclined to play socially?
  • basically just don't enjoy playing premade?

I feel like your statement is short-sighted and just sweeps a lot of feelings and considerations under the rug by heavy-handedly deciding what is more fun; what's more fun is a personal experience, not something you can scientifically math out.

Leaving slighted feelings to the wayside, though, I feel that League could do a better job of facilitating making friends. The Facebook integration relies on you already having the friends, and Team Recruitment on the boards makes some demands of accessibility. The in-client experience for finding friends is woefully lacking: for example, to become a member of a club, you need to already know of the club through some channel and this channel is unlikely to be in-game.

To join a chatroom, similarly, you already have to know the name of the chatroom.

The League client itself offers very few opportunities to actually socialise, as it doesn't offer general chatrooms readily available to players, and it doesn't provide a good platform to find individuals on your skill level. A "matchmaking" for chatrooms to just find friends around your skill level'd be cool; you "queue" into a chatroom, and the "matchmaker" puts you in a room with players around your MMR. You can then form premades and friendships with people.

TL;DR I think deciding that "premade is more fun" like it's a fact is hurtful towards those of us who simply don't enjoy premade. I think if you're going to adopt that stance, at the very least provide in-client tools that are accessible and make it easy to actually form premades.
