Supports and Summoner Spells

Title says what this is about, so I'll get started.

I was bored and decided to see what the old items were like and found Eliesa's Miracle, and the thing that interested me the most about it was the 'aid' passive that reduced the cd of summoner 7 summoner 13 and{{summoner:2}} . I thought this looked great for supports, but figured supports didn't take those spells anyways, since I always mained support due to joining rooms too slow. Then I suddenly realized that literally everyone except Singed takes flash and another spell, and I think this is a problem. I've always been under the impression that if something is used all the time, there's a problem somewhere. I understand that the reason flash is used so often is because of its utility... but only for yourself.

So, what if supports took something besides flash, like maybe Janna taking summoner 7 so she can actually give movement speed? Or maybe someone likeBraum , who expects to take a lot of damage, to bringsummoner 12 in case things go badly and he has to back, or just dies, but his carry doesn't and can stay in lane? I mean, my D key might as well be labeled 'Push in case of emergency', but when i'm supporting, I can sometimes go the entire laning phase without flashing, and sometimes only flash a couple times a game.

I know some people are going to ask why I don't just take those spells anyway to try it and see if it works, and maybe I will. This only dawned on me yesterday... I think it would be great in the game if there was more variation, and some champs really don't need flash. I remember one game there was a mid lane Fizz that had summoner 3 summoner 14 .which ended up being really good. I felt bad for our midlaner. At least people are taking summoner 21 more often to mid because there's less risk involved. But my point is that the common knowledge of "F is for Flash (or D for Flash...)" makes this part of the game more dull because you really only choose one spell, so I feel like there needs to be some incentive to break the meta. Like maybe an item with the 'aid' passive that just replaces summoner 13 withsummoner 3 or something, maybe adjust the numbers or what it affects. Of course, it's also totally okay to take Flash to make fancy-yet-effective plays for supports (hello Leona) and everyone else would probably still take Flash anyway, but, again, my point is that a lot of supports might not need it as badly as their adc, and bringing an incentive to try something different would be a great start to increase diversity on the D and F keys. Hey, it might even let some supports do their jobs even better than they already do!

TL;DR: A bunch of supports could probably stand to give up summoner 4 so they can do more supporting. Feel free to give your thoughts on this!
