Thank You Riot From A Scrub

TL;DR - Thank you Riot for making, keeping up, and progressing your game. If you feel the need to read my unnecessarily long post, go for it. But a warning: it's probably unnecessarily long.

So, I've been playing this game since Hecarim came out (although I only played, like, once or twice a week) and then I quit shortly after Thresh came out. I returned (after forgetting that account's login information) about a week before Vel'Koz's release and then quit again shortly after Gnar. Now, I wasn't exactly quitting, but I wasn't good at the game at the time (then again, I'm probably still not) and I didn't like that fact. Anyways, I returned once again (on a third account, as my memory is pretty crappy) in January of 2015, so a bit after Rek'Sai's release. That is this account.

Since then, I've probably played an average of about two to three games a week, which isn't much. I'm only Bronze III and I don't play the game religiously, but I do enjoy it and I kind of wanted to give props to Riot for making this game. I keep seeing a lot of people on the boards and in games and in some of my Discord servers for League talk badly about Riot and say they suck at balancing or getting back to their players or whatever. Now, I've played a lot of games over my short life so far, and not many of them I come back to as often as League or even at all in some cases.

I've played World of Warcraft and dealt with the month-long wait to receive finalized ticket information when my account bugs out. I've played Lord of the Rings Online where you might see an official of the game fixing scam spammers in world chat once in a lifetime. I actually remember logging on one day to a moderator gagging a scam spammer that I had recognized for being on at all times for the past month and a half. The next day, they were back under a different name and are still around today. I've played games where some classes are just the only thing you see in PvP for months on end because the game developers don't tone down their massive strengths.

I can also imagine that trying to balance a game like League AND progress it and keep it moving forward must be absolutely ridiculous to manage. It's overwhelming and the vocal minority of people who hate the game must make that job seem infinitely more pointless. I could be wrong, but I'd like to think those who hate the game and shout about it 24/7 are just a vocal minority and that the majority of players do still enjoy the game, albeit a bit frustrating at times, but what competitive game isn't? As for me, I love a lot of Champions, lore, gameplay, matchups, etc. about League. There's a lot of dynamic variations in the game that go very deep and tie together in very odd, but interesting places. The game keeps moving and never stops trying to better itself, which is commendable. After all, Albert Einstein said "You never fail until you stop trying." and Riot hasn't failed yet.

So I guess this was a little thank you to Riot from a mere Bronze III scrub who enjoys reading patch notes, watching for sales, catching up on updated lore, watching the professional scene, exploring the Universe and the statistics and even the dev things which I barely understand half the time. And a special thanks to Riot for making a game I can choose to play seriously or just casually with friends. I believe you've (Riot) done outstanding with this game and I'm really glad you don't let the aforementioned vocal minority get the better of you. Keep doing your best and don't fail and I'll keep trying to actually get good at the game, which may or may not ever happen.

Note: Also, I apologize if this was the incorrect section of the boards to post this. I don't often start discussions, so I'm not quite well-versed with the specifications of discussion placement. Hopefully this was the right place.
