Why is bard bad?
I dont understand why people think bard is bad? He has amazing poke, great heals, and his ultimate is a game changer. But people dodge when I pick him? Am i missing something?

It's because Bard's kit has no synergy with itself.
Simply that, and not much else. You can't combo anything as Bard. You don't have a kit, you have a bunch of tools that you use to benefit everyone else.
Step back from Bard for a second, and look at every other support. Their kits all either have a functional rotation (ex. Karma) or their kit has strong self-synergy and versatility (ex. Sona). They're built to work on their own while helping their team.
Bard's kit has absolutely no self-synergy. Don't misunderstand, the tools he has are strong (although most say his heal is pretty lame), but they don't have any sort of interaction with each other. There hasn't been a champion with such a lack of self-synergy in the history of League; the closest example is the old Sion design, which still had a bit of self-synergy.
It makes Bard hard to use for some people. Learning to treat his entire kit as totally separated parts is hard, and the higher learning curve means that people don't trust Bard players to do very well.
This doesn't mean Bard is bad. I've seen some really good Bard players, always on the enemy team. But he's an entirely different form of support, and it makes him unwieldy for traditional support players, as well as for players who don't understand that Bard is not a traditional support.
His heals are weak, his tunnel is situational, and his ult often hurts his team as much as his enemy's. His great Q and passive don't make up for all that. He requires more coordination to use optimally than most teams have in solo queue even at the highest levels.
I don't like him because I feel like he brings very little to the fight at my ELO (high silver).
He brings very little damage to a teamfight, people screw up his ult constantly, the ability to land the Q for a stun is a 50/50 shot for ppl, and I feel like without full-team voice communication to tell his team what he is about to do, his magical journey is extremely "meh" and gets him killed a lot when using it offensively.
I'm sure for higher tier play and team ranked he is amazing, but not in silver 2 solo queue. noooooo not in silver 2 my friends.
Because everyone uses his ult wrong. Also, ADCs dont like it when they're all alone in lane.
he needs a high level of team coordination to really work out well, which you usually don't have in soloQ. He doesn't really ad much to bigger fights if you can't youse his E and Ult for on great positional advantage, as both W and E have nearly no impact once a fight started, and his passive doesn't do all that much aswell. And his Ult can be a game changer in both directions as it can also loose you fights very hard if failed. Bard isn't a bad champ, he even gets banned vs some teams in pro play, but it's already hard to play well as the bard player and even harder to use as the entire team. If seen a few doing well in soloQ, but mostly they fail by cause they don't offer much in teamfights whil they/their team fals to make good use of his E and ult.
the problem is his ult is NEVER done right. I once ult'd a eve fighting my zed and i got eve so zed could get away. Did he? no he waited for it to come up to kill and got killed, letting eve go free. And then blames me for it....
damned if you hit damned if you miss...
nobody knows how to utilize his ult as an engage (not bard THE TEAM). Everyone blames bard because he is bad. but half of bard is having a team to actually do something with him. Heck i played with some adcs that just sit there watching me hit q's that only slow all day and when they get stunned they are nowhere to be found to capitalize on an assured kill.
The ult is the problem. People screw it up so much, it loses games.
Bard as a champion is not bad, its the people that play him, don't understand his mechanics an causes a game to turn to chaos with a bad ulti. Bard has the power to swing a game in any direction, a lot of times its in the wrong direction, so people freak out when they see a bard selection because of so much unknown, however in the right hands Bard can completely control the game.
He has amazing poke
as good as any other support
great heals
lol, no
his ultimate is a game changer
as much as any other support
When everything is going right for Bard, he's good. When not everything is going right for Bard, he's not good. If he's not the absolute best support without contest in his best-case, he's not worth playing (competitively), because everything outside his best case is pathetic.
The fact no one has seen him been played is the bad part.
