Lets talk balance.

And no, this thread isn't to QQ about how many champions are op atm, it's true there's quite a big amount of champions out there, but that's not what I'm here to talk about.

I'm here to talk about the way the balance team decides to nerf things. Does it bother anyone else that they rework champions who were just fine?

Malzahar Didn't need a change, his rework literally made the only thing that does damage is his voidlings. Viktor Literally almost nothing changed, all the sudden broken, nerfed to oblivion. And the list slowly moves on.

But, my biggest problem is that they make so many cool ideas, and concepts, like KindredKalistaTaliyah.

But soon as people actually invest the time to learn and play a champion very well, the team sees how strong they can be, and then nerfs them hard, and so badly they're almost not playable anymore, and they're left into the dust. It just really bothers me, because this way of balancing leaves so much diversity of roles out of the this game. Kindred is a perfect example, They were EXTREMELY UP(underplayed) at release, people questioned why people didn't play them. Soon as they jumped into LCS, people realized how powerful they could be, and then its picked and banned, nerfed, tossed in the recycling bin.

It just almost seems as riot just shits on some champions, and are like"Well, we don't have to worry about this champion anymore, lets balance the other 100+!" Azir Akali Kalista Galio Kindred Lulu Mordekaiser Malzahar Taliyah Sona Udyr

Does anyone else feel this way?

Discuss! Thanks fellas.

Edit: Disliked before you could even read it..

malz needed a rework, he was one of the least played champs, and for good reason too, he was complete shit! he did no damage, his voidlings his shit. He was meant to be played more like an assassin who blows up one person except for the fact that he didn't really snowball really hard.

I was thinking along the lines of too many updates would cause the game to lose what it had in the beginning. However not updating could be bad to because everybody would go into the game copying the best strategy and everybody would be doing the same thing. An example of this as lame as it may sound would be when yugioh first came out and everybody would put the same cards in their deck and there was no diversity, they eventually banned the overused and overpowered cards to fix it but the game sort of died after that. In a sense both options have their flaws maybe riot could try to create a completely balanced as possible version of the game, or bring back one of the oldest versions of the game and have it as an optional side game to play and never update it. I don't know if an idea like this would be a bad thing but If it was optional I would give it a shot, if they allowed a ranking for it the strategy abuse might get out of hand but at least they could run statistics on exactly how bad it could be. On a side I don't mind the updates, it's hard to get used to at first but letting the game evolve and challenge you really helps put your league of legends instincts to the test in a strategy sense. The enemy might be stronger every now and then but with a good game plan you can still win.
