I see why Junglers say its not their responsibility to win your lane now that I have Jungled.

I just started jungling so I have limited exp. I told them I am new jg so pick strong champs. Bot lane picks Kalista and Sona. LOL. Oh well there is always top lane. Nope, Nasus fed a Fiora. I break Yi off at the knees for a good part of the game until he pairs up with the fed Fiora and they start running things. By the time they got done, I couldn't even step foot in my own jungle.

I get blamed. Nasus says "Best NA jung" after he fed 6 kills by level 8. Two lanes lost that fold over into mid lane and they blame me. I even warned them that I was new. They picked weak, played bad, pushed hard, and lost lane. **I know with experience there is something I might be able to do but I told them ahead of time. **Why do people expect a gank when they push in and die. I killed Yi four times. I am winning jungle and helping lanes. They back after each engagement instead of pushing lane to turret or csing.

As a new jungler, am I supposed to disregard a failed lane that pushes too hard? I was Xin by the way. Am I suppose to help push under turret? It was too early in my opinion for a tower dive. Should I help Nasus even though he had died at least three times before level 6? My Victor was breaking even but it wasn't much of a snowball. I don't think he is that type of champ. I know some games can't be won.

How do I stop the bleeding?

I want to help them win lane. The least they can do is not lose it before i get there. My eyes are open.

There's only so much a jungler can do. It's up to their teammates to win their lanes. What you can try is getting red and ganking really early at level 2-3. Sometimes a miracle will happen. Also what a lot of junglers fail to do is after you successfully gank a lane be sure to push it and try take down their turret. It does wonders.

I can give you two pieces of advice.

First, Jungling is a friggin' artform. Every single champion will do it in a very unique way in that they all have different power spikes and will clear in a certain order and start from a different side and pick diferent jg items, yada yada yada. So what works for Nidalee probably wont work for Lee sin or Vi. Ganking is also an artform, and different champions will handle their ganks in a different way. You can only learn this by testing the waters and dealing with jerks in the meantime.

Second, any good player will tell you that the jungler should usually go for the lane that is already ahead. Fiora has 2 kills on her opponent? Gank for her, make sure that opponent stays where he belongs: under her boot. If you gank a lane that is losing, you're just giving the fed enemy a new target to chew on, thus giving him more kills. I'm not saying leave a losing lane in the dust, but something that solo Q doesn't understand is "don't fight an enemy who is stronger than you". If the enemy has more CS and more kills and better items, why the hell would you fight? You wouldn't, you farm. So if the ADC continues to die over and over and over (unless he's up against big poke like Varus) he's most likely doing something wrong anyway.

If all of your lanes are even, I would say prioritize mid, as this lane is the shortest path between bases and is typically where teamfights take place, so you'll want as much control over it as possible.

All that said, I'm not a jungle main, but I watch a LOTTT of pro play and I take a lot of mental notes, and these are my thoughts.

Honestly, I've been maining jungle since I started playing which hasnt been long but around 6-7 months now and I can tell you now, you can never rely on your team mates. It's up to you to snowball the game in lower elos. It's up to you to call the shots and if your team doesn't bother to listen make them listen.

When you're going to gank a lane, tell them to let the enemy laner push up a bit so you have a wider margin of time to make something happen before hand. If they don't bother doing that or have no idea how to manipulate the lane. Tough luck, they lost their chance, farm up or invade since the lanes are pushed. What you want to do is try and make it hard for the enemy jungler to gank if you have pressure in the jungle, the laners that are pushed are putting pressure into the lane so the enemy jungler is stuck at a cross roads.

I tend to do a full clear, granting me level 4 on champs like Udyr, Yi, Xin due to the fact they dont have a high gank potential early unless the enemy laners are hella pushed up.

You shouldnt focus on all 3 lanes, what you want to do is figure out what champs snowball after a kill or two and focus them, Viktor is a good champ to snowball, once he hits is power spike he can delete squishies in 2-3 seconds flat maybe less. Top lane bruisers are good to snowball as well, Garen, Renekton etc... Garen can trumpstomp a game if he gets an item lead.

Also if lanes are pushed up, if you have cinder hulk and the enemy laner is low enough you could always tell your laner to push into tower so you can dive. A good jungler never says they CANT gank. Because you can always gank.

As a Jungler, you get early levels pretty fast, you can hit Lv4 if you full clear on your first round and usually most lanesnare still Lv3 at that point. Else, with 3 camps, you hit Lv3, which is still being ahead of the curve for the most part.

You can and should use this to your advantage and already in the loading screen check out which lane has the biggest potential to snowball out of control in either direction - camp the sh!t out of it. By camp, I don't mean sit in a brush and wait for ages, but when you see the enemy starts moving more aggressive, go there and show presence. Your goal of a gank is NOT to always score a kill, it's usually already a success, if they blow a summoner or get so low on health that you force them to recall and lose a lot of cs that way. Unless you're Elise who can tower dive from Lv3 onwards, don't ever get near their tower. Just make their live a living hell and you're good to go.

The more experience you get as a Jungler, the better your judgement becomes in that regard and the more lanes you can control that way. If there's a lane that plays plain stupid, however, ignore it and don't even think about helping that lane before you got a few more levels, items and (most importantly) help from other lanes!

I have 2 examples of somehow recent games: Game1: Ahri Mid vs. (i think it was a Viktor, can't remember anymore tbh..) died 3 times in 6 minutes because she tower dove while she barely hit Lv3. She went 0/8 in lane and was flaming the crap out of me, while I was Jgl Shyvana, sitting on a ~5/1/6 score, sated and Titanic Hydra completed at about 20 minutes, having fed both top and bot.

Game2: Kennen Top vs. Lissandra. He rushed a Deathcap first item, which showed me he had no clue what he did there, so I decided to ignore him for the most part. In that game, I was Jungle Jax, again having a great game, solid score sated and Rageblade in about 19 minutes, while I had the complete bottom half of the map under full control (got mid and bot fed and got every drake that game, always had scuttle control). Obviously, Kennen kept flaming that I never ganked top, which again showed me, that guy really had no clue what he did but also had no map awareness whatsoever as I was already rollin, along our other lanes, while his 2nd item was a Void Staff, lol..

As you can see, Jungle (and Support) are ungrateful roles, you're always to blame first, when Top, Mid or ADC mess up, but you have to learn to stay over their trashtalk and focus on lanes that can help you with your ganks. Be it forcing the opponents summoners early, having follow up cc, or even providing vision so you know if the enemy Jungler is around for a potential counter gank. It was already mentioned, but I happily repeat, that jungling is a form of art. And you get better at it, the more you learn about it.

ps. blue buff is not meant to be taken by your mid laner. if you need it for yourself, then just take it.

The best thing you could possibly do for yourself is to mute all your laners. Please, save yourself the heartache while you're learning the jungle.

Aerothal4/29/2016, 8:53:19 AM1 votes

lol. the sole purpose for the jungler is to help the lanes win. jungle is a "lane" by itself where one person gathers solo experience and gets the opportunity to position himself so he can help out the other lanes. its not his responsibility to help you win, but it sure as hell is his responsibility to try to get you ahead. because if he does not, while the enemy jungler does, you (and he) lose the game.

When 1 lane over extends you have 2 choices, you can try and protect them (puts you behind) or you can go on teh other side of the map and assume that the enemy jungler is going for the juicy over extended lane.

If 2 lanes overextend you pretty much have to cry (unless they know how to push their limits and get away safely).

Like someone else said it really depends on what jungler you are playing. What works for one does not work for another. Champs like poppy, elise and hec can safely tower dive. Other like Dia, noc, and malphite power farm to 6.

Welcome to the pain of being the helpless 5th. Most laners do not understand that they need to help setup the gank with certain behavior.

Never be afraid to take the kill, just let the laner have the CS afterwards.

I'm just a bronze guy so I'm no expert. But every time the bleeding starts, as a jungler what I like to do is help the team in other ways. Like if a lane doesn't ward before over extending I try to get some wards or scuttle-crab for them. Or maybe try to make a lane recall and take an objective like Dragon, Rift Herald or a tower if I'm lucky. I think as a jungler getting vision is always worth. I've noticed that once we start losing the towers the enemy gets cocky and starts invading our jungle. Some vision really helps the team avoid fights we cant win and also helps assassins pick some juicy targets who are trying to farm our jungle.

As for whether you should help Nasus is totally your call. One thing you don't wanna do is feed an already fed lane. If you think you can get out with a kill do it. But don't risk anything. Simply denying a fed lane more free gold is enough to help tip the game in your favor. You can ward a fed lane to ensure that he can't roam for kills and get away with it either.

These are just some options that I do personally. I won't say they're right. Maybe higher elo people have better strategies but this works in Bronze that's all I can promise you! :)
