AP Items and Annie

So lately I've been seeing more Annie's and they aren't just supporting anymore. which is fine because she is meant to be in a solo lane, but I kind of feel like Riot should tone down some of her damage. Her kit is really simple and has a pretty good stun. She wasn't a problem before but now that she goes mid she has more room for AP items rather than support items and gets gold and kills in the lane. Needlessly Large Rod has been implemented into more items which is cool (I love the new Rylai's) but I've been seeing a lot of AP carries with an average of 600-900 AP late game now. Most other AP items are now obsolete compared to the amount of AP you get from buying all the large rod items. They are all necessary for most builds: Zhonya's for defense, Luden's for higher damage output mid game and poke, hat for late game AP, and Rylai's for defense and more utility (it now works for AOE casters now to it's full extent, which I like). All these items provide them with high amounts of AP and utility. The mana regen items are not as strong anymore and I have noticed they are less frequent now. Almost every game I see with a non-support Annie, she is close to 900 AP. That's enough AP to compensate for the loss of Magic Pen. At least against other carries.

My main complaint is that Annie has huge turn around potential with the amount of utility and damage she brings into a game. Even if you are winning, you ALWAYS have to keep an eye out for her. She can easily turn the tide of the game even with 3 inhibs down and pushed into the nexus towers. I like the new AP items. I know not every champion can build all the large rod items and have to focus on a couple of them. It's not necessarily easy to get the gold for them, but I feel like Annie is an exception to that. She doesn't NEED mana regen items as much as other mid carries because her Q refunds that mana. Most Annie's are bullies in their lane because of Q stun and have enough damage output to pick up kills mid game. Which of course gives her enough gold to start buying all those large rod items. This idea can be applied to just about any champion I guess, but it feels more so with Annie. Especially because of the low skill cap required to play her.

Maybe requiring Annie to actually spend her early gold to buy mana items? I feel like that might be the best route. She is always ahead in the lane because she is a bully with click Q stun (maybe except against skill shots that don't get blocked by minions). She can snowball in her lane pretty hard because she doesn't have to spend any gold from kills on mana and can instead go straight for AP.

Are there any plans on toning down some of the AP items like nerfing zhonyas immune to 1.5 or 2 seconds instead of 2.5? Personally I believe Zhonya's should be closer to 1.5 seconds so that it actually requires timing to block damage instead of just being used as a blanket shield. This goes to all mages. One thing that bugs me the most are items and spells that grant immunity or prevent you from dying like GAs, Zhonyas, Echo ult, Zed ult, Kayle ult, Fizz pole, Vlad pool and passives like Anivia, Aatrox, Voli, and Zac. Except all mages get Zhonyas and just use it as blanket cover instead of dodging damage skillfully (you know like Fiora W).
