With all the current damage, could the infernal drake be changed?

With all the damage floating around with these new runes, I don't see why infernal drake needs to even exist anymore. Extra damage upon the already existing heavy damage? No thanks.

Call me crazy, but why not change the drake to an armor drake? Instead of damage, you get armor / magic res. Something like that. I understand this is preseason, but unless there's some definite changes that will be made I don't see why this couldn't be an option.
