How to be useful with Draven?

I KNOW ITS A STUPID QUESTION. But I see so many people doing so well with him. But I've been trying to play him and my late game is pitiful, I try to keep good positioning but no matter what I always get bursted before I'm able to do anything by a zed or a jax who just tanks through our front lines then sacrifices himself to kill me.
