Why does it feel like you have to play OP champs?

If you want to do remotely good it feels like you must play something blatantly to strong. This games balance feels utterly atrocious. i am tired of seeing Graves, Rengar, Mundo, Lee etc. in every single one of my games. it's not fun playing against them. i want to enjoy this game not get shit on left right and center.

I'm picking the same exact champs I always have and doing just fine. I've been dominating with Sejuani and she's supposed to suck. If you can't make your favorite champs work, it's almost always because you just aren't good enough. Especially if your champs winrate isn't that bad.

Pick what you like, you can do well with just about anything as long as you know what you're doing.

It's the difference between playing to win and playing to lose.

If you are playing to win,** you have to use every single advantage at your disposal **which includes selecting the most powerful champions, items, summoner spells, etc.... some people play to lose so they don't care about what is most powerful.

If you are playing ranked, you cannot make inferior choices and expect to defeat superior players (I.e. those that made the correct choices). Blame only yourself, not the game.

If that was true, Lee Sin would have a much higher winrate.

You don't have to play OP stuff. You just have to know how to play against them. You can play whatever you want and as long as you know what you're doing, I'm good.

They're not OP by such a large margin that you 'have' to play them

You also have to consider that It just so happens when you stack all the OP champions they generally form a really nice team comp.

When you have people not picking the OP champs it means they're not 'tryhards' so you're likely to end up with something dumb like 3 ADCs and 2 mids

Honestly, this is probably just you. If you take any champion and practice with them consistently, you'll get good results.* If you jump around everytime the meta changes, then yes, you're going to have issues. Quality over quantity. if you put in effort, it will pay off. Now, that's not to say that some champions end up overpowered sometimes. Graves is a good example of this. But this is more the exception than the rule.

  • Except for maybe Eve. I don't think ANYONE knows what to do with her, Rito included.
