Some questions about Dynamic Queue, Queue Times, and Role Selection

I wanted to take a break from the accusatory flaming about DQ thats been going around the Boards recently and instead ask some constructive questions about the queue, and a couple other things. If any Rioter is reading this, its alright if you're not an expert in all fields and don't have answers to all three - any insight about any of these would be helpful.

  1. In Riot Pls, it was stated that your top priority for Dynamic Queue is to improve the solo player experience against premades. I'm curious as to how this is possible and what you guys are considering. The main complaint solo players have is that they have less influence on the game compared to premades. Its great that you want to fix this, but I'm not sure what change Riot can implement that would do so. The solo player having less of an impact than the 3 or 4-stack he got matched with seems to be an inherent problem - one that will always be there. That said, I'm sure you guys wouldn't say you wanted to improve this without having any preexisting ideas for how, so I'm curious as to what ideas are being tossed around.

  2. The top complaints among high-elo players are Dynamic Queue and Queue Times. The latter affects us viewers too, as we're going through the long waits with them. However, I've never blamed this on Riot, since queue times are long simply because there aren't enough players at that elo. I've always thought that since Riot doesn't have the ability to magically create an extra few hundred Master and Challenger players, long waits would always be an issue.

However, rioters have stated every now and then that you are looking to improve queue times for high elo. So I'm again curious as to how. Expanding MMR ranges was tried when DQ first launched, but was quickly hotfixed because games were more unbalanced than expected (I remember Scarra getting 3 LP from a win vs Diamonds). So that seems an unlikely solution. What ideas are you guys considering, then?

  1. Riot Pls named Role Selection as something that needs improvement. As a Support secondary player, this is very important to me. I'm again very curious to hear what you ideas you all are throwing around as possible changes. Some things I've heard suggested in the forums are:
  • Mandating primary role be given in at least 6 out of every 10 games

  • Mandating the system search for the primary for at least 60-90 seconds before searching for secondary

  • Adding incentives for queueing as support

Are any of these being considered? If not, what ideas do you have in mind?
