i've been told by a lot of players (even high ranks) attack speed does not help with jhin, but i noticed it does. so i finally tested it in a custom game.

i believe players are misreading the text in jhin's passive, where it says there is a "fixed attack speed". players probably assume "fixed attack speed" means the attack speed for all 4 attacks are 'fixed' and cannot benefit from attack speed bonus. this is incorrect as i figured out today. there are 2 reasons why attack speed helps (as shown in the next paragraphs). on the other hand i think jhin's 4th attack is a 'fixed speed' meaning the 4th attack does not get affected or sped up by attack speed bonus. i wouldn't suggest all attack speed on jhin seeing as his 4th attack is probably not affected, but it doesn't mean attack speed jhin is a troll build. i only took attack speed bonuses in this custom, and i took my ornn meta tanky runes so runes would not affect the test.

  1. i timed jhins 4 attacks several times from the beginning of the first animation for the first attack to when the 4th attack hit. without buying any items in the start of the game i was getting almost exactly 5 seconds. from when i took the screenshot with 164% attack speed bonus the 4 attacks looked noticably faster and it was always timing to 4.1 seconds. i know i'm not a perfect timer, but seeing how i got within .1 each time i timed it, it wasn't like i was off by a full second.

  2. in the beginning of the game the stats showed 'attacks per second' around .62. (you can start a game as jhin and look for yourself exactly what number it starts at. LoL claims there are .79 attacks per second with only attack speed items in this screenshot. i also noticed the number of attacks per second increases with level as well as right after i purchased items, so jhins attack speed will go up naturally a bit even without attack speed items.

in conclusion i'm tired of players telling me attack speed doesn't help with jhin at all. even if they were correct that attack speed does not help at all (which they aren't), you can see attack damage increases from attack speed items. attack damage was 0 when i started the custom game, and now it's 164 with attack speed only items.

i honestly don't know where these rumors are coming from. players misread messages or players don't test things, and tell all their friends and strangers what they 'think' is correct. i have heard LoL is one of the most toxic communities, so i hope players will stop reporting players for what they think is a 'troll' build. if i were to get all health with jhin in a ranked as bottom, i can see why they would want to report me for that, but attack speed in a non ranked, seriously? attack speed defintely helps with jhin, and i tear through opponents with a little lifesteal and the added attack speed. it's icing on the cake how nobody expects jhin to be attacking fast by late game. last game i played they totally ignored me playing jhin in a group fight, and we aced them without any deaths because the opponents must have looked at my attack speed build and thought i do minimal damage. sometimes bad rumors work in your favor. if any friends still don't believe me i'll make a youtube video showing attack speed helps with jhin.

You also have to remember that Jhin's AS naturally increases with his level(Except his base attack speed is changed not his bonus unlike everyone else cause he is special) . All AS really does for him is increase his MS when he crits and his AD.

after a lot of discussion and more testing with a former master, i found out attack speed does not help jhin's attack speed, but most attack speed final items help with movement speed all the time.

jhin attacks faster as jhin levels up, and attack speed gives jhin attack damage. building attack speed jhin isn't wrong at all (attack speed adds to attack damage instead), building attack speed jhin just doesn't help jhin's attack speed. i was informed crit adds move speed. that's something to try for a later date.

my argument about building attack speed jhin is at lower ranks and elos the movement speed helps you move around the map faster because your teammates and enemies are positioned poorly, and you can chase them down and get away. with the ad only items, they all have situational move speed.

if there were ad only items which had movement speed all the time or out of combat, i would choose them for jhin. i prefer moving fast in low ranks and elos, so that's why i choose attack speed items. it's not because i don't know how to build. yes, i may lose 10%-20% attack damage building items with attack speed over items with pure attack damage, but i can disengage from a fight and not die, or chase down an enemy. i'd rather be able to move faster as opposed to doing a little more damage.

Uhh his main benefit from attack speed is the % increase of AD on his passive and movement speed on crit.
