The Loss and Gain Of LP
I do not play ranked on a regular basis but sometimes I find myself playing a couple games in hopes to rank up or just feel a little competitive. For the most part the experience in ranked is how it should be, a more serious and competitive form of traditional Rift. The disheartening thing of ranked though is the ability for one person to solo carry in a game where me as a support put my adc and Jungler ahead in lane, only to get one shot by the 15 and 1 midlaner. The subsequent problem of this is that, despite me doing my job and getting my carries ahead and placing appropriate vision and overall having a good game, I lose the game and LP because I was one shot in the last 5-8 minutes of the game. It feels like I am being punished for doing good in a game. On the flip side, the enemy that I had shut down and is not doing good, gets the same victory and same LP as the person who carried the whole game. This is just unfair to give people who do not do good rewards and those who do do good punishments. I greatly believe that ranked should still be about winning and losing because if you win, there was obviously something done right, but i feel that LP should more reflect a persons individual skill. My rank is supposed to reflect my SKILL, not how lucky I am to be put on a team with someone who is smurfing and not how unlucky I am to have someone who is new to the game on my team. I do not know how people could implement these changes but that's what riots team is for. Essentially, make my rank reflect my skill, not how lucky I was to get a solo carry.
