there seems to be more investment in the superficial aspect of the game than fundamental
i don't have a problem with releasing skins, primarily because the art department is completely different than the gameplay/dev department but why does one department thrive (art/skin/story) while the other seems to always lag behind with updates or community desires and in some cases completely ignore community outcry**. to me it seems more is being invested in art than game development OR (and this is what I personally think) the quality of artists for the amount of resource they're given is greater than the quality of game dev but what do i know.
