A noob Q... Why not stack boots?

Ok, so im a noob and this is my first post and i dont know all the right abbreviations. I've searched for my Q below but not found the answer. Im Lv25 but havn't played in 2 years (=VERY uneven noob player). ;-)

Q: Boot or Boots? item 3006 2:ce now have i in game heard from GOOD players that i shouldn't buy more then one boot, but not gotten an answer as to why? Both times i had Trynde and bought "Berserker's Greaves" x 2. To me it seams both in game and In my rough head calcs (ofc i might be wrong!) that it is for me the fastest increase of DMG/sec + ms (Move.Speed) early game so i can both hunt and flee. Rough calcs: +22 dmg, +45% ms per 1100 g (per boot) And it seems to stack..! So if i should NOT buy 2 boots i'd like to know why, and i'd like to know if it is specific for Trynde or a "general" rule/advice.

I hope someone can help me...

Everyone that answered; THANK YOU VERY MUCH! :-D

I really learned something! The missing pice of the pussle for me was the meaning of the word "unique" in this game . It's had a different meaning in the last couple of games i played. But that explains much .

The movement speed of the boots don't stack, neither do unique passives.

Only thing that can stack is the base stats it gives, such as MR, Armor, AS, etc...

But for that, you're better off buying other items.

That's why generally it's a horrible idea to buy more than 1 boots.

Ok... BIG THANX for replys! But i'm still a bit confused... Please help me understand... I've been at that linked page some time befor my 1st post to check, but i read it differently then all of u. So ther's something right in front of me that i must have missed. :-(

In case i've misunderstood something - i apologize, english is not my 1st language (it's my 3rd).

Under "Increasing flat movement speed" it says; "...Champions cannot buy more than one set of boots." This is not correct as i've bought multiple boots many times.

And under "Increasing percentage movement speed" (about other items then boots) it says; "...Percentage movement speed will stack additionally with other sources...".

So if they mean that i "can buy several boots but their effects will not stack" then i think they should write that.

But under "Multiplicative speed boosts" they write; "Most speed boosts stack additively, but a select few stack multiplicatively with other speed boosts...."

So why dont i understand why they dont stack..??? Sorry, i'm just a noob...

Movement speed is unique, so it doesn't stack.

The increase is flat rather than percentage.

Movement speed is soft-capped so that more movement speed becomes less effective after certain thresholds.

riot made it so they don't stack

The reason is that while boots might have good cost efficiency on their own the movement speed is a unique passive nthat does not stack between boots. They are also not the most idea for overall slot efficient.

There is however an argument that could be made for being able to buy 2 of the boot upgrades such as merc treads and Ninja tabi together on the same base boots of speed.

I remember when I used to buy two boots XD LoL was my first RPG-related game and I did not know what stacking meant. I thought it was a disclaimer, literally saying "don't try wearing two boots stacked upon each other at home". Simpler times, a simpler mind.
