League of Legends New Player's Guide: Part 1, Page 2
Hello everyone! It's time for me to start on Page 2 of my New Player's Guide - Navigating the Profile Page. But, before I start, I do have to say one thing. I will not be going over the Clubs section fro two reasons; the first of which being that I feel it belongs better in Social and not Profile (even though it is encapsulated in the Profile Page), and second being that I am not currently in a Club, which means I'll need to get into one or make one to work it into a post.
But, with that out of the way, I can get started talking about the Profile Page proper.
This is what you're greeted to when you open the Profile Page - or, at least, what it aught to look like. Everybody's profile page will be different, but the layout will be the same.
This is your Summoner Icon, which displays your currently equipped Icon, and your current Summoner Level. As you can see, I'm wearing the Chaos Victor's Icon from the Legendary Vs. Event, and my Summoner Level is at its cap - 30. You can click the Summoner Icon here in the Profile Page, as well as in the social pane at the top right of the Client, to change your Icon.
These are game-related details for your Profile. From left to right, there's Dynamic Background, Available Boosts, First Win of the Day, ARAM/ARURF Rerolls Available, and Available Hextech Chests. If you have an active Boost, the icon in your Profile will light up. This goes the same for First Wins of the Day, as well, where winning your first match will award you one-hundred extra Influence Points.
ARAM/ARURF Reroll Credits are obtained by playing in those respective modes, and allow you to reroll your randomly selected Champion for a new one. Hextech Chests (which I'll cover more thoroughly in Loot), are rewards for playing exceedingly well, and can contain awesome free content.
And, I haven't forgotten about Dynamic Background, either. With Dynamic Background, your Profile Page's background will change to the splash art of the Champion you've played the most in your recent matches, which, in my case, is Bard, the Wandering Caretaker. Even though I play a fair variety of Champions, it's clear enough to anyone who sees my profile that I've recently hit a mood of playing Bard.
This is your Honor Level - if you haven't watched Honor Explained yet, I'd advise that you do so if you're interested in Honor. But, in a brief description, your Honor Level is a passive gauge of how sportsmanlike of a player you are - you steadily increase in Level over the course of a season, and you decrease in Level if you're penalized by the Instant Feedback System (or IFS, for short).
And over on the other side here is Player Rank - Ranked players climb through tiers and divisions to demonstrate their skill at the game. I'll get into a more thorough description a little later, but, for right now, feel free to chuckle at the Silver II player writing a New Player's Guide, if you happen to find it funny.
And here, in the dead-center of the bottom of the screen, is your Top Three Mastered Champions. This section of the Profile Page showcases your overall Mastery Score (the sum of all the Mastery Levels you've gained on Champions), as well as the three Top Mastery Level Champions in your Champion pool. These Champions are ordered by Mastery Level first, Mastery Points second.
Taking center-stage of my Top Three is my Main, Leona, the Radiant Dawn, followed by Azir, the Emperor of the Sands, and then Yasuo, the Unforgiven, all at Mastery Rank 7.
This is the Summoner Search bar. Type in any Summoner Name that you know, click the Magnifying Glass icon, and it will take you to a view of their Profile, where you can see their Rank, top Mastered Champions, most recently played, and so on!
This is the Match History Page, where you can view stats on your most recently played Champions, preview your twenty most recent matches, and look at your per-Class playrates.
Feel free to laugh at my recent Match History - but also know that it can happen to you. Don't be disheartened, though, everyone has slumps.
In this section of the Page, you can see recently played matches, which show a lot of nitty-gritty details, such as Champion played, Mode played Champion Level (by the end of the match), Kill/Death/Assist score (KDA for short), Creep Score (the sum of minions and monsters killed), Gold earned, Items built, Letter Grade, IP gained, Map played, and Date of Match.
These little buttons to the right of your individual matches allow you to get Replays of the matches in question, allowing you to watch the match unfold all over again from a spectator's point of view. It even has options to slow down, pause, and speed up the Replay, so you can watch everything go eight times as fast, or even at half-speed so you can see where something went wrong.
You can also Record your Replays to make Highlights, so you can show people something hilarious that happened, let people bask in the glory of your Pentakill, or just capture an awesome duel that left you feeling cool.
Also, this link here sends you to the Full Match History, showing more than just the 20 most recently played matches. While you can't get Replays from the Full Match History, you can get a broader look at a player's skill than in the Client's Match History Page.
Here on the right hand side, you can see your top three most recently played Champions, and your playrates on them. These playrates take into account all games played, and how much of them these three Champions take up. In this case, I have a 20% playrate on Bard, 15% on Riven, and 10% on Ekko.
And, just below it is your recent Class Activity. This shows you how frequently you've played Champions of a given Class, each symbolized by an icon. From left to right, the Classes are Fighter, Tank, Mage, Slayer, Support, and Marksman.
This is the Ranked Page, which shows a roster of players in your Rank and Division (as well as other Divisions), showing your placement among them.
This shows the Ranked Mode/Queue Type (top), which, for my example, is Solo/Duo. Underneath that is your Ranked Tier and Grouping (middle), which in my case would be Silver, with Diana's Maulers being my Grouping. Underneath that is the Ranked Divisions (bottom), with V being the lowest, moving all the way up to the highest Division, I. As we've already seen, I'm sitting in Silver II right now, though that's subject to change in the future.
And, as with the Match History Page, the Ranked Page shows your most played Champions in recent matches for Ranked play.
On the left side here are players Individual placements in their Division's Roster. Players who perform better, or who have more LP, Wins, and so on, will be higher-placed on the ladder than others.
These flairs here show notable information about the players - the two I've highlighted are Hot Streak (the flame), showing that a player has won three matches in a row, and Veteran (the ribbon), which shows that a player has played a hundred matches in this division.
Then there's their total Ranked Wins (above), showing how many matches they've won since starting Ranked play, and their current LP (below), showing the League Points they've accrued in their division. When you win 100 League Points (LP), you get put into a Promotional Series.
Players in their Division Promos have to win two out of three matches to rank up, and this player is shown to have won one, and lost another.
For a more thorough guide as to how the League Ranked System works, it might be worth your time to click this link in the top right.
And finally, we move on to the Highlights Page. Here, you can view Highlights which you've taken from your recent match Replays.
This is an individual Highlight file as it appears in the Client - you can select individual files to watch the videos and rename them, but here, whatever file you have selected, you can open the File Location of (the file icon), or delete (the trash can icon).
This is the Highlight Video - you can click the play button at the bottom left to watch it, move the video progress slider to move to a specific part of the Highlight, see the time of the video, increase or decrease the volume, and bring the video into fullscreen mode.
This is the Highlight Title/File Name. It starts off as a string of letters and numbers with a date at the end (which is the most I could tell), but you can change the File Name by clicking the pencil icon to the right of the Highlight's name.
And this is the Date of the Highlight, which is primarily useful for remembering when you created the highlight, but it's worth pointing out nevertheless.
And that should be all for the Profile Page! I hope that this post helps players to navigate and understand their Profile, or even learn a thing or two about it that they didn't already know. If I happened to miss anything, or if anyone has any questions, feel free to speak up! If you want to see the previous post, The Home Page, the link is right there. Keep an eye out for Page 3, The Collection Page, sometime soon!
