New vision item for assassins

Im redoing a previous thread because ppl got distracted by my silly master yi idea (it was just for fun anyway, but you know how ppl are). I thought this other idea actually had merit so I am going to speak about it in isolation.

Ad assassins are slated to get a new item. Right now its got a weird zed ult attached to it. I have a cooler idea than just "more dmg for assassins"

This item helps assassins by allowing them to control vision and giving them some stats that they might be lacking. It gives a good bit of dmg in whatever way you might want it to (armor pen, ad, just whatever ok?), but the sweeper passive gets reset upon kill. The play patter is something like sweep a bush and surprise the next person you attack. Thats much like a real assassin because they come out of somewhere you dont expect and slay you. Ive always thought kah was balanced because of isolation. Maybe it would have something like that attached to it. I dont know I dont care, but I donot think that assassins should be the class with the most extreme dmg. They should be able to kill any unsuspecting targets however. No matter the defenses. The only defense against an assassin should be vision of them. I think application of that core identity would do exactly what riot is trying to do with nightfall, but would allow for vision based gameplay rather than playing around stats that items give..

I think they should be the class with the most vision denial because of the unseen threat they are supposed to represent. Its not cool when youve got zed popping ghost blade and chasing you down the lane for 4 seconds and you just know you are going to die and nothing you can do. When the other team makes a good play I usually comment so in allchat. "Wp sir, Wp". But I never do this when zed just chases me down. Theres no creativity there. Its just a jaw grind. However, if zed surprises the shit out of me then thats respect you know.

Now, as a form of counterplay, we can have phantom dancer and deaths dance. Deaths dance is so named because it can be a first item that helps you duel an assassin (even if you die later to the bleed passive). Phantom dancer is your second item when you have an assassin comp and it helps you dance with phantoms (like assassins). Whenever the assassin does a poor job of denying vision and surprising you, you can apply the phantom dancer passive to them and that will protect you somehow. Phantom dancer proabbly doesnt need to change too much. But what if it gave you some bonus movespeed when an unseen threat was nearby, on a 60 second cooldown (also a subtle indication for the target to be careful), and gave you dmg reduction on threats you have vision of for more than 2 seconds.

This thread isnt about phantom dancer though. Its about the assassin item.

Regarding that, you could sort of hype up the dmg on the item and link that dmg to its active cooldown. It gives a lot of base ad regardless, but the active has some conditionals. It begins by sweeping a bush for you and giving you a ton of % armor pen after a short delay. While you remain unseen, you keep the armor pen. Once you make your move or get caught by vision, you have 3 seconds to make a kill (One second more than phantom dancer's dmg reduction passive). If you dont get the kill, you loose the armor pen and you cant even reset the cooldown for 30 seconds or more, but it only resets on kill or assist so it wont even be availible until after you get some blood.

Maybe it has a two stage active. One stage sweeps a bush. The next activation gives stats temporarily and stuff. That would be a new league mechanic in a lot of ways. Might expand the game. I dont know, but it would be cool if the adc vs assassin battle was more about clever vision mechanics than about whatever it is now. Thats more strategy right?

Idk guys I think this would be a really cool idea and would be really easy to test on the pbe. There are a lot of ways to balance it bc of all the possible ways you can make that cooldown work and because of the interplay between the dance items for the adc.
