Calling roles in blinds

Not sure if this is the right place for this post, but I'm putting it here because I don't know where to put it. I just came out of a game when I called top lane and then picked Quinn. There wasn't another player who called top, and nobody told me that it was called. Then another player instalocks top lane (we love instalockers, don't we?) and then, when the game starts, I get flamed by the team until I go bottom lane and play ADC. What I learnt later was that I was the random in a 4-player premade that called 4 of the roles before they got into the game. However, I feel that calling in the game creation screen does not translate into a called lane in the actual game lobby unless it's a pre-made of 5 players. What was the right thing for me to do in this situation? Should I have stood my ground and play top lane anyways (which is usually what I do to instalockers)? Was it right for me to yield and go ADC (which I did horribly at because I very, very rarely play Quinn ADC)? How do you guys feel about calling roles in the game creation lobby?

Just curious, floppy1000

Someone once locked in Zyra with ignite and I assumed she was going aggressive support, so I asked if she was mid or support so I could fill accordingly. I got called a moron because she was obviously going mid.

I mean, how hard is it to simply type where you're going? People can't read minds.

In a premade of 4, I'll type where we're going just so the fifth person isn't lost.

To answer your question, depending on how they acted and how badly I needed a win, I'd have probably stood my ground and just gone double top lol.

No, that is not the correct thing to do.

The actual, correct thing to do is "Say in-game that you got the toplane pick, play top lane, and report all 4 of the little $#&^$ afterwards". And yes, this is a gameplay occurrence so it fits here well enough.

my thoughts on lane calling

As much as its widely supported As much as riot has endorsed it

it's not exactly.. official enough it's still like bit coin, it only has value to people who acknowledge it's value imagine if the currency for a country didnt have laws to make it official... this is lane calling

as much as I hate instalockers, I don't support the idea that people are waving around the concept as some heaven's mandate either
