Out of your idea of building Yi and Nasus "Correctly", who do you think would win?

Hi, I recently had a game where I played nasus and had to deal with a yi who were split pushing. The entire time he was able to kill me even though my stack was around 500 to 600 for ~40 m. The team, blamed me for being bad which I agree on it. But am I the only cause? No. But I am interested to know your opinion one of my teammate who blamed everything one me and added in end game chat: I could of easily taken care of Yi if I was you. Which i don't really believe so. But maybe i m wrong... So that why I m creating this little conversation of the battle between Nasus vs Yi. Would it be normal for Nasus to take out Yi or Yi taking out Nasus?

Let's say that: MasterYi has item 1419 item 3812 item 3153 item 3006 item 3124 item 1038 (BF for Guardian angel but lets say he doesn't have it.) Vs Nasus has (Stack 600) item 3065 item 3078 item 3111 (This boots because you also need to deal with the other enemy) item 3110
(Here I made a big mistake that I agree on. I didn't took thormail thinking that yi would just pass through but forgot that the damage back could of helped) item 3033 (I know I know it was a stupid build of mine. But I was learning Nasus and I didn't know what to do against him... don't be too harsh on me....)

In this case Yi wins, we agree on that. And myself too. I made a terrible mistake. But I learned from it. But I am interested to know what would happen for a full build nasus vs a full build yi.

Yi wins because he has;

  1. A frag ton of %HP damage
  2. Effective 30% damage reduction
  3. 2.0 or higher attack speed
  4. 300 or so AD

Even if nasus has his Q and ult yi will MELT you with his guinsoos synergy as guinsoos stacks his passive which also applies on hit effects.

Nasus item 3075 item 3065 item 3047 item 3078item 3512 item 3742 with 600+ stacks

vs

MasterYi item 1419 item 3153 item 3812 item 3124 item 3006 item 3026

Assuming both have full health and ults I'd say it favors Nasus unless the Yi meditates a Q. Then again if Nasus has 800+ he wins pretty easy.

If there is a Yi in your game, you should be building Tabis (The AA damage Reduction is huge), as they will be dual effective vs the ADC as well. Thornmail would also be a good item, why you built a Mortal Reminder is beyond me with Thronmail and Bramble vest in the game. Tri Force and Frozen Heart are good items, but it pushes you over the CDR cap too with Visage. You could sub out Visage for a Garg Stoneplate or Locket as they are both great Team Fight Items.

Either way though I feel like Yi should end up winning that 1v1 untill you can basically two shot him while being tanky enough to last long enough to two Q him. Something like item 3078 or item 3025 item 3047 item 3065 item 3110 item 3075 then one of these items item 3193 item 3190 (if you feel like just spirit visage isn't enough MR) item 3742 item 3143 if you feel you need Armor with HP or item 3083 if you just want flat HP (again though you'd end up over 20% on CDR.) If you think you're gonna end up with Warmogs by end game, maybe build Frozen Heart into a different Armor item. item 3194 (Great item vs sustained magical damage users) Cassiopeia Katarina Rumble Ryze Azir Swain Taliyah (to name a few)

As a yi main since season 3, I have fought many Nasii. IF we are talking late game with 800 stack on nasus full build and yi with his full build ( the standard on-hit one, NOT the crit one) then it legit depends on how good the enemy yi is and if he can time his q and w correctly. IT also matters on the nasus's build to some extent.

For example item 3075 +item 3110 +item 3047 stieght up wrecks a lot of his damage.... but be warned this is NOT a garenteed solution (if yi is good enough he can still beat this).

My currnet favorite build on yi is MasterYi item 1419 item 3153 item 3124 item 3156 item 3111 item 3075
This build gives him Some tankyness as well as INSANE dueling power and TankSHREDDING DAMAGE. not to mention it can still delete squsishys.

So now it comes down to how well yi plays it out. IF he is a good yi he knows that Nasus main damage comes from his Q. All yi has to do is walkup to you during fight with his ultimate, DODGE your first q with his Q, continue to auto you, MEDITATE the second Q with his W, Continue to auto, by this time his alpha should be back up due to guinsoo passive giving him extra auto every 2 hits, DODGE the third Q with his alpha. Nasus SHOULD be dead by now.

ONLY way you can beat this kind of yi is to hope you have enough stacks on your Q that you can 1 shot him with 2.5K tons of damage with just 1 q BEFORE he has time to alpha or meditate it away. OR>> he messes up on timeings of his Q+W which believe me DOES happen ALOT.

EDIT: current version of YI actually needs GOOD skills to play effectively, heres a clip from season 3 version of yi where he got full resets on ALL abilities including Q. Notice the Alpha strike chaining damage + invulnerability. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQAlqQxvlu8

As a Yi main who also plays a fair amount of Nasus, it's Nasus. But you've got to build and play properly, and Yi can disengage at any time.

First off, if I'm not mistaken, double strike and phantom hit (from rageblade) proc thornmail, so it's absolutely essential against him, as he kills himself faster with it. It also hurts his sustain, which is very important for 1v1's.

Ninja tabi's are really good against him, and unless the rest of the enemy team is super heavy on magic dmg and has a lot of cc, ninja tabi's are better.

Last whisper items are bad on Nasus. You already have % armor reduction with your E, don't need more. In theory, lethality could work well with it, but it does make you quite squichy though, so be careful. Good for 1v1's and tower taking, though.

But if you just get a bunch of armor, that's fine. Now onto how to play it: You want to ult right away when you know the fight will happen. You don't want to W him if he's in his ultimate. You want to E on top of yourself before he has the chance to start attacking him. If he stays in it, his armor will be reduced by 35%. And then just spam Q's on him. xd On a 1.1 second cooldown, that's going to hurt a LOT.

If he plays really well he might still be able to kill you, if he's ahead, but in most cases you have the advantage. It does depend on if he meditate resets one of your Q's, if he has rageblade pre-stacked, how far ahead he is, etc, but I want you to understand that the new Nasus is extremely powerful in 1v1's. Ever since they made his ult reduce his Q's cooldown by 50%. Yi also happens to be a very good duelist, but the new Nasus is super broken. My luck is that many of them stack poorly and/or don't use ult at the start.

If you Q and then ult, don't be surprised if you lose to him.

Old Nasus was scary when the player stacked well. New Nasus is scary starting at level 6. Yi's also scary in 1v1's though, so it's not completely onesided, and there's skill to it. But Nasus does have the advantage.

Try to improve your stacking. I've done 600 at 20 min. Usually, you aim for 400 at 20, 300 on bad lanes. Try to get cdr items early game, maybe just getting the cdr components, if you don't mind delaying your first item. Take every chance you get to stack. Have fun!
