Idea for Zoe's W

I've noticed the RNG aspect of Zoe's W is mentioned frequently on the boards. It doesn't seem like many people are too happy with this feature. I was trying to think of an idea that would change the ability slightly to make it more interactive. The idea of picking up spells and items is fun, but what if more strategy could be added to it. Here's my pitch:

Group the possible drops into 3 categories: offensive, defensive, and utility (for example, ignite is an offensive drop, barrier is a defensive drop, ghostblade active is a utility drop).

Now, when a minion spawns that has a drop for Zoe, instead of having one visual to represent that the minion had one of these drops, have a colour-coded visual that shows whether the drop is offensive, defensive, or utility.

This opens the opportunity for more interactivity with the ability. Here's a few examples I thought of:

A Zoe being ganked quickly kills a minion and picks up a defensive drop to try and get out alive Zoe's lane opponent delays going in for a trade because of the offensive spell she could pick up mid-trade In a teamfight, Zoe kills a utility minion in hopes of gaining some kind of access to the enemy backline

Mostly just looking for thoughts and discussion. Do you think it's a good idea?

Since it's called "spell thief" this mechanic of dropping out a random active from a minion should be completly removed (yes I love Zoe and I play her when I can). Minions don't use flash or redemption, why would they carry them ?
