Why is Shen getting nerfed, but not Irelia/Vayne/Riven/Rengar?
Shen becomes popular for 1-2 patches.

None of those champions are dominating. They are dominating the boards here with spam posts about nerfing them, but in game? No.
I mean honestly, Taric has a higher win rate. I don't typically think highly of win rate, but I think even less of popularity rankings, which is the only thing those champs are doing well in.
If you actually want to talk about Shen that's fine, and that's actually a good topic for discussion, but there's no reason to hide an Irelia, Riven, and Vayne QQ post behind Shen.
Why is Shen getting nerfed, but not Irelia/Vayne/Riven/Rengar?
Shen is amazing in pro-play. Vayne/Riven/Rengar are amazing pub-stompers. And mostly "eh" in pro-play.
Riot tends to balance around pro-play.
Because shen is one of the most popular LCS picks.
Shen was already extremely powerful, and, with Titanic Hydra, can fill up his one weakness (his lack of waveclear) while still getting tankyness.
Also, better nerf Irelia. Always relevant.
Irelia, Riven and Vayne ok but why the hell Rengar I see him once in 10 games? O.O
Shen has always been a risky champion to have in play since he can easily split push, ult in to save a champion, then TP back to the lane he was split pushing, the reason TF and Pantheon now have ranges to their ults is because of this very same problem.
In fact shen is most useful when he ults in, because using an ult mid team fight when you are already there means potential is being wasted and the enemy can shred you quickly with AoE aswell. Until TP gets nerfed or they nerf his ult range you will see this, relevant - irrelevant- relevant cycle. Trust me you would have hated the shen meta where shen was in literally every game, top tier tank, and it made playing so one sided. Even if you won a team fight you would realize you couldnt push because shen already did that against you. I like how he came back and is being played, im just not looking forwards to him going to his glory days.
LCS meta is different than solo q meta. In other words, those solo q "OP" champions are easily shut down by LCS teams/meta.
I see more and more Rengars with the 1shot build... People used to play him as some kind of fighter even when he was op.
Irelia in all honesty doesn't need a nerf because there is seriously nothing you can do about her abilities that would make her either too strong or just a shitty overall pick. If Riot decides to touch Irelia then she would need a rework entirely.
Because rengar is not OP, its like people forgot how strong rengar was before his rework.

Shen was already hoping around top tier for Top lane meta. I was so pumped when the new items came out because already knew what I was wanting to do. They probably realized the same thing and are just giving him a small nerf to keep him under control while they watch him
