Control Wards

Am going to get down to the point. Are control really any good? I mean they deny vision if one was to set ward in a certain place. But thats such a minor thing. Because before one could just remove the existing ward placed and there goes the vision. And now it doesnt have the perks of seeing steath units. So now isnt basically a nomal ward like the ones they removed.
