Riot, your matchmaking system is so unfair for lower levels.

I've played two games today on the new rift through team builder, I am a level 26. My last two games my team was comprised of players level 21-28, which is completely reasonable in my opinion.

The other team in BOTH games, the majority were level 30's ranked gold or plat.

How the hell is this fair? My team had a horrible time getting stomped by players far more experienced than they were, I wanted to rage quit both games. The only reason we won the second game was because the other team's jungler quit for some reason and we won 5v4.

How can you possibly justify placing level 21's against players in the top 20% of ranked play?

You can't, and I want an explanation.

Any decent player should stomp you with 5-10 extra runes/masteries. It's really unfair even without the experience disadvantage.

I really didn't see the reason behind having a separate MMR for each mode (ranked, normal, teambuilder). It's not like you would suddenly forget how to play because you are in a different queue. I get that some people want to "have fun" in normals because ranked is too stressful, but with the current system, you are kind of having fun at the expense of the other - mechanically inferior - team who didn't really queue into the game to be your entertainment.

I also agree that playing with a skillful opponent can teach you a lot of things, but there should be limit in the gap between skill levels. There's hardly anything you can learn when you spend 80% of your game time being dead, only to be dead again in 20 seconds because the other team clicked on you once.

As if the bad kind of smurfs weren't bad enough for new players, now they have to deal with high-ranking players in Normals. Riot seriously needs to fix their Team Builder matchmaking. I've checked several times after the game and I'm up against Gold V-IIIs more often than not, yet I'm unranked and most people on my teams are high Bronze or low Silver, and I'm a level 30. If it makes you feel any better, it's not just pre-level 30 players that get this crap.

All queues have separate MMR. TB makes matchmaking easier if u havent played the role before in TB. gold+ don't generally play TB. TB considers them "new".

This is so true. I have been playing with a LoL friend that is new and still leveling. We got matched against gold+ players while our team consisted of unranked (below lvl 30), me which is silver 2, and a bronze 1 Yi...How is that fair. The Master Yi tried hard though but against a whole team of golds we lost horribly.

I am gold and in TB I play a lot against Diamonds....frustrating. Yesterday I played against Master Xerath which was obviously scripting aswell. Meh.

I'm silver 5, so not as big a deal for me but I've noticed the inconsistency as well. Me and a friend are both in the silver rank and we were consistently paired against plat players (which I am proud to say I'd usually kill them once)

I agree it's not right to be matched with a level 30 when your in your twenty's (unless you have a level 30 on your team) and that something should be done about it

You can't play team builder if you're below 30 lol .

I hear you mate, but do you know how fast you improve with that kind of skill discrepancy? I'm Gold right now and have had the pleasure of playing with (and getting my ass kicked by) a handful of Master players... And the knowledge they've passed on to me just through their play is priceless. PRICELESS.

I'm not even gonna bother posting all the unfair matchmaking screenshots i have saved on my PC anymore.

Riot, something is seriously wrong with Teambuilder Matchamking when i'm considering to just hop in ranked for a fun and relaxing game.

Laning against a plat/diamond player is no fun at all.

And no, i'm not learning anything from it. All i'm getting is that people with better mechanics can wreck me consistently.

Livyst11/18/2014, 11:37:33 PM1 votes

It is because they joined with a partner at a lower level then you, so then the game gives them a higher level to make up for the gold player. It is unbalanced but in the end it isn't ranked so who cares lol. I was the same way when i was below level 30, Oh this is is blah blah blah and in the end I got over it when I hit ranked, and i'm 100% you will 2.

I'm a lv23 player, though I've been playing since S2. I stopped for well over a year while on deployment and picked it up again after that with a new account (my old one was deactivated by Riot because of no activity for over a year), though only occasionally. Lately though, I've been playing more and noticed the huge discrepancies as well. At least 50% of my games are no fun because one team or the other is so skewed, it's just a brutal beatdown. Like the last game I played. It was an ARAM game, and there was a Gold ranked Gragas teamed up with a lv11 Garen on the other team. My team consisted of lv18-lv23 players. The Gragas owned the whole game. When I asked if he enjoyed exploiting the matchmaking system, one of his teammates had the gall to call ME a smurf who does the same thing. Like, how? Because I was doing the best on a losing team? I was lucky enough to role Ashe, an ADC, which is what I main. Of course I'd do well after playing for years. But seriously, how has Riot not done something about this? I've spent hundreds of dollars on skins and such, yet I'm coming to absolutely hate a game I loved years ago when it was still relatively new and 'working out the kinks.' If anything, there are more kinks now then there was is S2, IMHO.
