Should Gangplank's Q stay Point-and-Click?

There was a Rioter at Surrender@20 (Riot Scruffy) who said that Gangplank's Q will be staying point-and-click with the upcoming rework. I haven't heard anything to contradict that, so I'm assuming that's what Riot's plan is.

While I was surprised (Riot loves their skillshots) and happy to hear this at first, as were all the Gangplank players, I've been thinking about it for a while. TBH, I'm not sure the single-targetedness of it is the most healthy part of him to keep. Think about it. Why was Gangplank nerfed in the first place? Well, the major reason was reportedly his single-target Q crits; with the only counterplay being to keep out of range, there wasn't much at all you could do against it if you wanted cs. I can't imagine laning phase vs the Saltwater Scourge was enjoyable in the least.

So, Riot nerfed him.

And he was never heard from again.

...

Well, they've got a rework in the works for our favorite pirate, and I think it would be great for him to be strong without his opponents demanding nerfs - which, if he were strong in his current state, would most likely be the case. I love the crit and on-hit capabilities of his Q and would hate to see that go, but it might be possible to deliver it a bit better.

Edit: I'd just like to say that point-and-click does have its merits; it's far more user-friendly for farming, not to mention easier to use. It's also a member of a dying breed in League of Legends - the ranged abilities that aren't skillshots. I see most Gangplank players want to see this stay. It's just less interactive when NOT farming, a.k.a. against your lane opponent. Also, if changed to a skillshot, it would probably come with added punch, such as range, damage, and possibly slow. I'm thinking along the lines of Mundo Cleaver when it comes to range, projectile speed and delay. (Practically none)

What do you think? Should Gangplank's point-and-click stay after the rework?

Why not have him deal bonus damage on his Q scaling with crit chance like ashe, or have it mini-crit like yasuo? IMO it needs to stay a targeted ability

not sure whats currently wrong with him. but having a crit chance rune page doesn't seem to be a problem.
