Taliyah needs some love

If you have the skill to play Taliyah then you can still manage to do well, but to most shes unsatisfactory :( what if rito changed her Q? Specifically worked ground?

>Q generally works the same except for a few things.

>if Taliyah doesnt have any ammo, then she can hold Q while on fresh ground to create worked ground. >While standing on worked ground, Taliyah passively makes ammo (rather than the movespeed buff). ammo are rocks that float around her, like the Q animation before they fire. >Taliyah can store 5~ shots >while standing on worked ground, Taliyah cannot fire her Q ammo off all at once, it is semi auto. >if she holds Q down she can force a cooldown and manually make 1 ammo (maybe two). >while not standing on worked ground, Taliyah can fire off her ammo like a machine gun, or... >she could hold her Q down, and it would consume all her stored ammo to make one large projectile that pierces enemies. >this single projectile takes some amount of time to create, enemies could pressure Taliyah if they catch her out of bounds. >it could have a splash at the end of its range, or where your cursor was.

I play Taliyah quite frequently, and while i feel like she has great potential as a champion, I think her Q jut isnt in a good spot. I love the champion, shes cute and fun to play, so I just want her to get the love she deserves. Everything else in my opinion is great. (even her fluffy eyebrows)

pls notice me rito senpai.

Edit: I had a thought. What if while she is using her passive (the rock surfing one) and you dont have maximum ammo she could find ammo. "ooh another rock. and another!"

another thought: Her ammo capacity could increase with ranks in Q for balance reasons.

Quite honestly, I think its the meta that's pushed Taliyah out of cycle. Before patch 7.4, Taliyah was in a reasonably well balanced spot. Right now, she's probably lacking the impact she wants to create because items like Edge of Night completely ruin her. 3 out of 5 opponents in the opposite are lethality builders and it does screw her over somewhat. And as of recently, a lot of tanks are building spirit visage.

Coupled with the Mastery nerfs across all boards, it certainly didn't help Taliyah either. In fact, she's just dipped slightly below in strength as a result.

But, she's still pretty effective at some points of the game if you play her well, I guess she's just not as impactful as before.

Taliyah isa very good champ, you just have to practice and learn all the tricks to be precise on your plays. the warped ground is essential for csing during the laneing phase. Just keep practicing and have patience. you can add me and ill show you things about Taliyah not many people know about

Uh... no... she does not need some love. She is in a rather, and surprisingly, good state right now in this meta. She has consistent DPS plus burst plus roaming potential. The only things she doesn't have are tankiness and mobility. Her spells conjugate a level of annoyingness that is only seen on other champs like Aurelion Sol. I think it's fair to say that, with the state of her kit being as unhealthy (yet fun) as it is right now, giving her even a little "love" will probably throw her over the edge and she'll become incredibly overpowered again. And don't say I don't know about Taliyah... trust me. I do. I've played her since her release, and her Q has almost always been in a "good spot". It doesn't drain mana due to its costs, low cooldown and requires skill to play. Absolutely lovely ability along with the rest of her kit. Btw you're proposed changes to her Q are extremely confusing and sort of complex... It would make her even more "skill reliant". I know... such a bad thing, right?

Taliyah's Q is what makes her a champion right now. Changes like this would completely change her playstyle. Again. And would most likely be an overall nerf.

My thoughts as a semi-decent Taliyah player (Assuming the scaling stays the same):

if Taliyah doesnt have any ammo, then she can hold Q while on fresh ground to create worked ground.

This sounds like inverting laning phase.

While standing on worked ground, Taliyah passively makes ammo (rather than the movespeed buff). ammo are rocks that float around her, like the Q animation before they fire.

The MS buff helps in lane for dodging skillshots so I don't really want that removed.

Taliyah can store 5~ shots while standing on worked ground, Taliyah cannot fire her Q ammo off all at once, it is semi auto.

What's the cooldown in between individual shots? 1 second is too low for full damage and 2 seconds is too long because ammo regen time would be most likely 4-5 seconds.

while not standing on worked ground, Taliyah can fire off her ammo like a machine gun, or...

This would just be a nerf to the current Q.

she could hold her Q down, and it would consume all her stored ammo to make one large projectile that pierces enemies. this single projectile takes some amount of time to create, enemies could pressure Taliyah if they catch her out of bounds.

The only way this could work is if she's allowed to move while charging it. Or else this is already a nerf. This would also remove the choice of working around having one damage shot for half mana or the full ability for normal mana. Thus inverting her laning style. Also makes getting the thunderlords proc that's essential to winning lane significantly harder.

it could have a splash at the end of its range, or where your cursor was.

Taliyah q already has a splash normally. Would be a nerf to make the splash only affect the end of range. Making it where your cursor was at the time makes missing the ability too punishing for it being your only damage ability for 90% of the teamfight.

With all of these changes, Taliyah wouldn't be able to fight anyone outside of laning. As an already awkward champion to learn this reduces her QoL. You have no time to set up worked ground before a teamfight and you cant set up worked ground if you have ammo. Having a Mantra'd Karma Q (that takes time to charge up) on Taliyah that pierces reduces your already minimal DPS because of the splash being way too situational and hard to pull off. And while she's on top of her tiny worked ground circle she would just be a worse Corki.

I apologize for being all over the place with this. I hope you understood what I intended to put down, but I can try to clarify more if you have any questions.

Can we just revert her to before 6.11?

I recently started playing her and she just is useless past the early game. Her damage is lacking after the early game I think her ult takes up too much of her power budget and also her passive is useless

Taliyah needs something on her E and W. They're so lackluster because E damage got gutted. W was made do very little damage because of the incredible utility and flexibility it had with E and by itself. Now that E damage is in the dumps and its vertical knockup capability is gone, it's just clunky, finicky and lacking use outside of a level 3-7 cheese on the enemy laner.

Her W should just be reverted back to it's old casting paradigm without the Lockout. The change on patch 6.14 has proven to be a complete failure and just catered to the people who didn't play Taliyah at all. The people who said Vector Cast was good on Taliyah don't even play her at all or has stopped playing her completely. It was much more flexible and accurate at the time. Since Riot is too lazy to even give the new casting paradigm a proper targeting reticle, a revert would be nice.

Her E landmines should have a Poppy W effect. If someone triggers one, they are stopped in place and knocked up a little bit. This way her E actually has some form of useful utility and would actually be a threat mid to late game. The reason why the damage was gutted is because Riot Zenon doesn't want it to be a burst tool, but a zoning tool. Problem with that logic is that the move was only good for its damage, so getting rid of it removed its zoning potential.
