I can not TELL you the number of times these last few weeks I have been in normal queue, lose HORRIBLY, and come to find out everyone on my team (including me) is bronze and half the enemy team is gold, if not plat.
This is stupid. It leads to horrible one-sided games, and it NEEDS to stop.

Its happening in ranked, Enemy was full of golds and Plats, we were silvers mostly, the odd thing is we won...
Dudes the matchmaking doesn't que you based on your rank but rather on your hidden mmr. Rank means nothing! Just because you're going up against a gold or a plat doesn't necessarily mean they are going to be better then you again hidden mmr plays a big part in it not rank.

It was just a normal and I personally have never had a game that lop-sided as far as tier goes...but why not enjoy it, you got to play with people "much higher" than you are currently. I myself love playing against higher tier opponents to see where their skill-level is and where mine needs to be...unless I win. :)
Normal MMR is not equal to Ranked MMR. End of discussion.
Actually it's fun as it is. I don't have the team for ranked 5's and neither the patience nor time to climb up yoloQ.
But normal game MMR places me against a mix of Platinum and Diamon players, which is fun. My win ratios stays good, I wouldn't want to have it any other way.
no its not broken im silver 3 and get matched vs diamond players complete balanced because thats the joy of solo que
normal mmr and ranked mmr are different.
I stopped playing team builder for this reason ; I either completely dominate or completely get destroyed. I find that draft pick is a little more balanced, but not always. #rankedsoloqueonlyque
Been years since it happened, but I had a game where two individuals on the enemy team each had more wins than our entire team combined.
They've got to have a way for noobs to play with their high level friends, so sometimes these kinds of things happen.

In ranked that has to be frustrating but I'm getting seriously demoralized with the amount of ranked people in leveling games. The experience alone those players have over us leveling is game breaking but then to toss in tier 3 runes and all the masteries and it's pretty much GG every time!
Would there be a way to disallow matching up those under level 20 with anyone over 20? At 20 you get tier 3 runes and 2 quints ... 20- 30 is a little more balanced (still not making up for the exp difference) but at least you can have a more balanced game. Us under lvl20 99.99% of the time have no runes due to not being able to use tier 3 under 30 and from the get go were vs players that no matter what will have stats much higher than us due to the runes and masteries.
MMR is a myth, only amount of games are compared, and if those arent close than just available users are matched. Riot has no match making system.
Things go really bad at the end of the year in this game so avoid playing anything other than ARAM (and even ARAM sucks these last weeks)
yeah this has been annoyinh the shit out of me. im in gold and i usually get matched with a few diamond and plat players. i wanna play against my fellow gold players not this bullshit.
im just in gold V ffs give me break not even in Gold 2 or 3 yet and this is happening.

I totally agree. It not only happens in solo q but in ranked too. I was playing my promos (my first ones) and everyone on my team was either new, bronze or silver. We got crushed and then after the game I found out the enemy team had 3 gold, 1 bronze and a diamond. I mean wtf?!? That is just not fucking fair. And in solo q they match me against plats and golds and I get crushed. Fix.
