About new Conqueror

What's the interaction with Ranged Spells? Because I saw it only gives 1 stack for ranged autos but it doesn't say anything about spells so I was wondering how would it do on someone like Ryze who can spam out spells quickly but is ranged? Like do they get the 2 stacks from spells or just the 1 like with autos?
