Riot and LOL players have gone too far with regards to dc's. Something must be done to combat this, I mean how is it fair to us that we lose the same amount of lp when playing the game at uneven odds. Its bad enough that we have wasted 40-50 min playing at these odds but RIOT also adds another 40-50 min on top of that just to get back loss lp. So, for this reason I am starting a petition in hope that riot will see the dissatisfaction of its community with regards to this matter and make a change.

Honestly I just dealt with this. 2nd game in a row lost in my series because of afk. What should be done is if there's an afk on either team then the match is a loss prevented on both teams and doesn't count towards series. If you aren't in series then it should be no lp lost. At bronze it's easy to gain the LP back, but at elo's like plat and diamond, I know from sources that it's a pain in the ass to get the lp back when literally the game was lost at the start. "What if my team was gonna win?" It's unfair odds, have a fair fucking fight 5v5. "People have won 4v5's" it's such a rare anomaly to win a 4v5 that the option of winning as 4v5 shouldn't even be considered. There's always gonna be special cases, and yeah back in season 3 and 4 if one of you was fed enough and the guy didn't go afk until maybe 10 to 20 min in you guys might be able to do it. But if your mid ezreal with smite (I know it's the new meta but this is still bronze) doesn't even connect, and the game goes on 35 minutes? there's no way you are winning that, the enemy team had it from the start.

DC first 10 mins, no LP loss. DC after 10 mins minimal LP loss.

In my honest opinion I think riot should change their AFK policy to this: This takes into consideration an lp pool

  1. Remove the old afk/leaver system ( people are less inclined to leave when there lp or ip is on the line)
  2. Have the losing team place lp into the pool and the winning team takes from it
  3. Modify the lp loss distribution on the losing team so that its based on time spent connected (longer you dc the more points loss they lose, less points you lose)
  4. What the above means is that if you have a dc teammate you lose less points and him more
  5. Do the same for the winning team, that is modify the lp gain distribution so that less points awarded to a dc member the longer he dc's and more to who remains in the game
