How do Placement Matches Work? 7-3 = Silver 3, 3-7 = Silver2??

Aright, let me start things off by saying that my friend and I were unranked during Season 4..

Okay, so I did my placement matches a few months back, and got Silver 3 with a 7-3 record, 3 of which were Duo Queue (I lost 2 games from them), and did 6 in Solo Queue. My friend finished his placement matches today with his Gold 5 friend and got Silver 2 with a 3-7 record. How does the placement system work?

I believe each placement match intentionally matches you with different ranges of MMR, and the more difficult ones will be worth more. These things are a bit vague so I'm not sure.

It doesn't. It DOESNT work. That's the problem, and placements need to be drastically changed or removed.

The win loss ratio is completely irrelevant in placements as each single game is evaluted individually.

Everyone starts with an averge MMR, let's say (for explanation's sake) mid silver.

So the first game you play will be a silver ranked game. When you win your next game may be a gold game, when you loose, it wil be a bronze game. And so on.

So you placement depends entriel on which games you loose and which you win.

I hink the first few games matter the most as the gamesis tryig t get a rough idea on where to place you, while the latter are more fine tuning.
