A little idea for Varus
So, first of all, i'm not complaining about Varus' strength. I think he's actually fine on the marksman part as well as on the mid lane one, he might just need some better scaling into the late game but whatever, this isn't my point.
What i'm thinking about is Varus' Q and his item path : i just feel guilty to buy any Attack speed item, even though it's necessary to fullfill the marksman role because i feel like i'm missing a huge powerspike with the Ad ratio from his Q. I know we could almost say the same with Lucian but he doesn't rely as much on his Q to deal damages, and his passive actually scales pretty well with As. I don't wanna buy a manamune because it's pretty hard to stack with Varus on the Tear purchase and it delays the cdr i get from a crit chance item with Essence Reaver.
So to solve this issue, i was inspired by the ammo system currently used on graves and jhin, which i find awesome. Varus might get a quiver with 4 to 5 arrows and he can use them either for autoattacking or charging his Q which has no more inner cooldown (damages should be reduced in proportions). The more arrows he keeps for his Q, the stronger and longer his skillshot is. The arrows are progressively consumed as he's charging the Q, so you can choose the strength it gets like on live. Then he gets a recharge time like jhin, but it can be reduced by As, and it's the key point. So when he purchases attack speed he gets rewarded on his Q pattern but in return he has to reload.
This modification should unite both Varus builds on the mid and bot lane for a unique gameplay where you get to choose between poke and dps actively.
I'm hoping this gets some attention, i really like to play Varus but i'd love him even more if i didn't have to rip away his poke strengh when i want to play him as a marksman. :<
