Seemingly this champion has zero counter player,and is completely overpowered and needs to be gutted/s

Here's a guide to countering the uncounterableness:

Point 1. AD Mids

AD mids have always been strong against veigar pre rework and after rework,AD mids itemization is just that much better.

Talon Talons kit allows him to shutdown veigars ability to passively farm into a strong mid-late game ap carry,you force the enemy jungler to deal with you and allow your jungler to do whatever they please.

Your E is your strongest ability as it allows you to jump over veigars wall even if he sits on it,which at that point you just Q,W,then E as he runs.

Early game if you arent completely stomping him you pick up a item 3155 and he wont have enough burst to compete with your damage.

Zed Zed,you might say that this is not a counter pick as veigar can simply buy a item 3157,any good zed player will tell you that your ult is not necessary for extinguishing targets,but more importantly it isnt your late game that is good against veigar,but your early game.As Talon is an all in zoner,you harass veigar with very little room for return,you max Q and land W>Q and he is chunked for 30% of his health at level 3,if you arent stomping him in lane just build item 3155,this thing is seriously your best friend.

Point 2. Harass Him

Veigar was honestly better equiped pre-rework to deal with siege mages as his instant stun allowed him to close the gap to DFG combo siege mages.

What do siege mages do that veigar cant handle?

Xerath

A truly good xerath player will be able to play the harass game to veigars farm game,every time he goes to W front minions to Q,you Q yourself,every time he goes to try and stun you,you walk away and press W,every time he tries anything,you have the tools necessary to retaliate.If you need even more assurance of survival pick up summoner 1 instead of summoner 21 or summoner 7 summoner 6

As of late I have been seeing people pick this as a viable counter to veigar as your your tool kit and itemization are pretty well off. You get access to an untargetability(really good against W/R).Early game you can pick up a item 3211 for his early game Q and W harass,later finishing toitem 3065 oritem 3102 to your leisure.Also under you belt is access to so many good options,but it just depends on the game and match up from then on.

Point 3. You aren't the only player

Yes,Veigar is in a good spot right now,but he isnt impossible to deal with,in fact,he has many objective counters that I havent even mentioned due to how long this would get.But another thing is that your team just needs to be involved in stopping him.Veigar pushing the lane a little hard?Vi Get your friendly neighborrift jungler to help you out.

You are a top laner and you pushed your lane?Go see if you can gank mid lane while your lane pushes back.

Just got dragon with bot lane and their lane is pushed?Go mid and stop him from farming for a bit.

Also,buy item 3111.

Tl;dr:veigar has counterplay,and counterpicks.

Every champ has counterplay, Veigar just has very little/ unhealthy "counterplay".

Point 1 are counterpicks, what do you do if he picks after you? "Shouldve picked an AD assassin (which are all pretty bad in this meta) just because Veigar was open"? Herassing only works with some counterpicks too, which Veigar just oneshots if they make 1 false step (or if he has flash and enough dmg to oneshot them with ult lel).

I think Veigar is actually in a pretty good spot now. But I think the reason that most people are mad is the same reason that they don't like Nasus; if he can stall and farm, no matter how well you're doing, he WILL outscale you. Also, we've all been up against that lategame Veigar who one-shots us with just ult.

I came here expecting a 'git gud buy item 3102' thread. Actual decent guide. Though, it's kind of sad people even need this. Just a week ago people were bitching veigar was useless because anyone can just walk out of his stun.

And now that the stun has not been buffed but his scaling has..he's suddenly uncounterable/unhealthy/toxic.

People just weren't playing him, so people forgot how to walk out of his stun before it closes. But..you can still just do that.

I don't have much trouble with Veig cus of his power or his range, it's his E i mostly have trouble with. Unlike other CC (Lux, LB's chain, Ahri's charm, etc.), this horizon is both a zone tool and it stuns if it hits (for a long time, too). Stun's really frustrating cus the player can do absolutely nothing to solve the situation, unless qss or cleanse. With awesome scaling tools, I see some veigar just completely maxed out E for zoning, escape, and catching, too.

Honestly I feel like vs Veigar, I need to grab at least 2 MR items; banshee alone isn't enough or QSS alone just doesn't feel safe enough.

Easier to understand guide: Build some mr, don't build ap, get some hp and bam useless heim inc. Or just burst him down before he gets in range to press r. yasuo windwall works wonders too.

its so easy to beat him lol just played karth into him and absolutely destroyed him, i got mildly fed and went straight for the roa tear combo and he couldnt burst me ever.
