LeaveBuster and Low Priority Que Wait Times

I've been an avid player of league of legends for the past two+ years, and have probably put more money into this game for skins than I should have over that time. League, of course, isn't the only game I have played in that time, and I have recently started to play DotA 2 as well, so I could play with a few friends of mine. While I prefer LoL a fair bit I only really had one big problem with DotA. just how damned annoying low priority que was. For a while my computer had issues with crashing, forcing me to be marked with abandons, and thus placing me in Low Priority. I have since fixed my computer, and when seeing how LoL was getting Low Priority I figured it would not affect me, particularly after seeing how it is supposed to only impact chronic leavers and frequent offenders(source in the included link). I wasn't entirely correct, as around a month ago I left a few games due to various issues, and rightfully so I was hit with a low priority. It was not bad, the wait times were not as bad as DotA 2's, and I still wanted to avoid it. However, today, a full month of playing later, my father knocked over a Christmas tree. This forced me to go afk while helping to clean up, re-anchor it, and various other issues associated with 30+ pounds of foliage, broken glass, and ropes of light falling. Again, I was hit with Low Priority, something I thought wouldn't be much of an issue, though it slightly annoyed me that I was hit with it for leaving on one of those supposed "rare cases" that wouldn't be punished. In addition to receiving Low Priority, there is now a required ten minute wait time between beginning a que, and actually searching. Over five games that's almost an hour that I now have to wait for an: "Occasional DCs due to hardware/connections/RL emergencies". Even if one is a chronic leaver, having to wait ten minutes repeatedly after a second instance of triggering the Leave Buster is extremely heavy, whether it is over the period of a week or a month. In short, LeaveBuster seems, in my opinion, overtuned and overpunishing, and if possible could we have an explanation as to why so?

I was having issues with my computer fan not running, so I decided to try to run a bot game to see if I would be okay before trying a real game. Unfortunately, I wasn't and I had to shut down my computer. Later when I logged on again, I got the "you left the game. Type I Agree" message. Due to that incident, I didn't play for a month until I got a new computer, obviously.

However; my point, I can understand having penalties for leaving a normal or ranked game, but why have penalties for Bot games? That's usually where I go to test out settings and such. Also, when you leave, one of the bots also leaves, making it 4 Vs 4. Maybe it's not a good idea to remove entirely, but I believe the penalties should be extremely reduced for bot games, less than what they are now for normals, and maybe the same as they are now for ranked.

I think this is all part of Lyte's bullshit policy to increase punishments for players like the 0 tolerance first time 2 week bans or perma. There's no small time bans anymore.

I remember them saying that they were going to er on the safe side with punishments while the tribunal was down. Once the Tribunal is back up (If it ever is? Haven't heard anything about that lately.) I believe the punishments will be brought down a bit.

It sucks but you have to understand that your "occasional" DC stacks up over time, in the end it doesn't matter why you left, the fact remain that your 4 teammates are now screwed because of it.

Again, it sucks for you, but you do deserve the punishment.

I would be a bit more sympathetic towards your situation if not for the fact that you still risked playing league even though you knew your computer was prone to crashing. You basically used up all your leniency during this period and when you actually needed it for a legitimate emergency, you didn't have it. The punishments are meant to be harsh to strongly discourage players from leaving games or even from playing a game with a risk of them leaving in the middle of it. Just remember that you are basically wasting at least 20 minutes of each of your teammates' time whenever you leave a game (80 minutes total).

just play teambuilder. It counts towards the 5 game que and doesnt actually involve the wait.

what about when its leagues issue when they are having issues with other players ISP? how is the player from comcast or verizon suppose to know there is an isp issue? had 2 games about a week or two ago where one kicked me out for "crashing" and the other was extremely laggy.. i check my internet on my side and everything was 100% after the first game, so i figured i'd wait a bit and check the forums maybe there is an update.... nothing, so i did the 2nd game and it was unplayable (still played the game and finished it, but im sure my teammates were not happy). then i checked my pc again everything was fine... and checked league forums again and it was league vs verizon fios issues......

idk what the buffer gap is for getting this penalty, but it does suck knowing i left the 4 other guys that one game, and the 2nd game was a handicap because unknowingly league servers vs verizon fios was going on. now say if that happens again and myself blindly gets into unfortunate situation again would i be deserving of a ban/low priority due to league client vs verizon fios? im sure riot has a way of figuring out how and why players left whether it was quitting or alt f4 or pulling the internet cable.

and on a side note, its kinda annoying having to shut off certain firewalls every day just to play the game, i know i can control which walls i have up or not so its not a huge issue tbh, but i prefer the extra safty on my computer.

Bump Because this is seriously ridiculous Hitting the attempt to reconnect button doesn't even work and because i couldn't get back in game for a while even though we ended up winning the match i still get placed in this garbage timer..

Fix your servers at least before over punishing people...
