Maokai's Snare is Messed Up

EVERY champion with a mobility move (and most people taking flash) have been able to use their dash after I'd already applied my snare and it was visually registered. I tested this in PvP multiple times, and against many different bots in the practice tool. At first I thought it was just a simple latency error, but Renekton was able to double-dash (whatever that move is where he spins) a half-second AFTER I had already snared him.

This has happened way too often. Yasuo has E'd out, Leona has gotten out (Dunno if it's Q or what) with the move where she pulls herself to her target, Graves have dashed out, etc.

Why is this such a big problem this season? NEVER happened to me in 6.
