Nunu Rework- First Split/Permanent "Pet" Champion w/ "Teamwork Combos"?
I had an idea earlier about Nunu and Willump, and since the entire theme of the new Nunu and Willump seems to be friendship, I was wondering if it could be possible for Riot to make them more than just "Nunu is on top of Willump and throws snowballs". What if Willump and Nunu were separate and Willump was like a permanent "Tibbers". They could split up, but they got major upsides from being near each other, encouraging "teamwork" between the two of them. I think the best example of what I mean by this is Bros Attacks from the Mario and Luigi series.

Using abilities together to combo into huge devastating combos. The best way to do this is likely to make Nunu a "Transform Champion" except instead of having the Transform Ultimate change the spells Nunu casts, it switches between the spells that cast from Nunu and the spells that cast from Willump. If you can time your spells together properly, you get big huge abilities with a lot of impact!
Example:
Nunu Ability 1- Snowball Fight Active: Nunu charges for up to 3 seconds, reaching full power after 1.5 seconds. Upon release, Nunu tosses a huge snowball into the air that flies to the target location, dealing between 35/50/65/80/95 (+25% AP) and 70/100/130/160/190 (+50% AP) magic damage and slowing enemies hit by 20/25/30/35/40% for 1.5-3 seconds, with damage, slow duration, and AoE radius increasing the longer this ability is charged. FRIENDSHIP BONUS If Willump is within the AoE radius of the snowball, he will catch the giant snowball and continue to charge the ability for up to 6 seconds, doubling the current damage, slow, and AoE radius of the snowball over 3 seconds. He can cast Yeti Toss during this time to throw the snowball to the target area. Maximum Charged Damage- 70/100/130/160/190 (+50% AP) to 140/200/260/320/380 (+100% AP) (based on how long both Nunu and Willump charge) Maximum Slow- 40/50/60/70/80% Maximum AoE Radius- 200-400 (based on how long both Nunu and Willump charge) Willump is slowed by 15% while carrying the snowball. Cost: 50/55/60/65/70 mana Cool Down: 10/9.5/9/8.5/8 seconds Range: 1000 AoE Radius: 100-200 (based on how long Nunu charges)
Willump Ability 1- Yeti Toss Active: Willump picks up Nunu if he is nearby and places him on his back, causing him to be untargetable until either Willump dies, is interrupted, or chooses to throw him. Willump can move, attack, and cast abilities freely while Nunu is on his back. Nunu can attack and cast abilities freely while on Willump's back, but his basic attacks deal 70/65/60/55/50% reduced damage. This ability can be reactivated for as long as Nunu is on Willump's back to throw Nunu to the target location, dealing 45/75/105/135/165 (+35% AP) magic damage to nearby enemies and briefly slowing them by 50% for 0.5/0.75/1/1.25/1.5 second(s). Nunu can cast abilities while flying through the air. Willump cannot pick up Nunu while he is carrying a snowball. FRIENDSHIP BONUS If Nunu casts Snowball Fight while flying through the air, instead of charging a snowball and throwing it, he will become a snowball himself while flying through the air and deal an additional 15/25/35/45/55 (+20% AP) magic damage to enemies hit as well as stunning them instead of slowing them. Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 mana Cool Down: 16/14.5/13/11.5/10 seconds Throw Range: 850 Throw AoE Radius: 300
This is only an example and definitely not balanced, but I think having Nunu and Willump cooperate and perform cool little combo abilities like this would really embrace the "Friendship" theme Riot referenced in the Champion Roadmap. I know there is some holes in this, such as how would you control both Nunu and Willump at the same time, but I feel like we have the technology! What do you guys think? Does this make sense for Nunu and Willump, or did you guys have something different in mind?
