LoL seems to emphasize counterplay a LOT more than any other games
...that seems to be the vibe I'm getting.
I've played other MOBAs and many digital card games, and one thing I noticed is that other games can easily get away with having unfair mechanics. LoL, on the other hand, seems to take this concept very seriously, almost too seriously. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing at all, but if a champion consistently keep getting their kits tuned to a state that is more "fair" to other people, then you would end up with a bunch of champions with extremely generic or even identical kits to the point where the game no longer becomes very interesting. I mean, even champions that I never considered to be a problem has been hit with the nerf bat because an aspect of their kit was "too hard" to deal with.
The question I ask is, what exactly does "unfair" mean objectively? Is too much damage unfair? Is too much poke unfair? Is too much CC unfair? Is too much heals or shields unfair? How about we nerf them all so that every champion becomes very generic at what they do? That seems to be the vibe I'm getting from LoL.
